Manager, International Distribution
The Manager, International Distribution position is an excellent intermediate-level opportunity to contribute to the release of films by a major motion picture studio and enhance the distribution practices of the international team. This person will provide managerial support to the SVP of International Distribution with all Sony European offices and support the overall distribution function in Culver City with analysis, reporting, and creating presentations. Responsibilities are to formulate and track implementation of international theatrical release strategies, collaborate with all divisions to share and synthesize our strategies, and provide executive summaries to the SVP.

Core Responsibilities:
• Manage distribution plans and summaries for European territories along with Senior Vice President
• Craft sales summaries and advise wider team on booking strategy, including screen formats and paid previews
• Prepare weekly box office release reports, complete full analysis, and provide the narrative and insights to SVP
• Initiate weekly calls with territories to track box performance and marketing plans during the film's release
• Supervise international release strategy for Sony specialty titles and advise distribution plans to upper management
• Collaborate with home office Marketing departments to synthesize and enhance distribution strategy during a film's life cycle
• Partner with Operations and Censorship teams to coordinate film delivery and film rating summaries
• Manage theatrical release dates and film rights to advise third parties for hotel and airline clearances
• Analyzes release landscapes, sources box office data, and applies industry knowledge to provide detailed estimates for opening weekends and lifetime grosses for key markets
• Tracks performance of SPE's international theatrical releases by sourcing box office data
• Organizes market analysis, statistics, and trends for presentations to senior management
• Tracks release dates for all SPE international releases by working closely with territory Managing Directors
• Assists in developing release strategies for theatrical titles; identifies potential alternatives by conducting an in-depth review of release windows, competitive titles, and holidays that could impact a title's success
• Build distribution slides for filmmaker presentations
• Prepare and distribute various key management reports
• Identifies competitive titles for box office comparisons
Job Requirements:
• 2-4 years of sales and/or marketing experience, preferably in a studio environment
• Bachelor's degree required
• Interest in film and how to create multiple but congruent international strategies for various films
• Self-starter, ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Must be able to multi-task and prioritize to ensure that all assignments are completed in an accurate and timely manner
• Must be flexible – an ability to work well in an environment where needs and priorities are subject to much revision
• Strong comfort with data and business intelligence
• Strong attention to detail; ability to quickly grasp new concepts
• Exceptional organizational and interpersonal skills
• Strong computer skills, knowledge in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Powerpoint.
• Familiarity with Analytics software, like Tableau, and eager to learn
The anticipated base salary for this position is $71,000 to $94,100. This role may also qualify for annual incentive and/or comprehensive benefits. The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location of the position.
