You should understand artist tools for painting, illustration, and composition.

In addition to gaining experience with advanced compositing and non-photorealistic rendering techniques, you'll be uniquely positioned to work alongside artists and engineers to deliver the next generation of tools to advance future productions. In accordance with your interests, you can also contribute to other disciplines within the software group.

What You'll Do:
• Design solutions in Nuke and potentially other DCCs
• Write tools and plugins for the compositing department
• Integrate your solutions with the compositing teams
• Reduce artist iteration time as well as find efficiencies through more streamlined toolsets
• Work directly with NPR specialists to discover solutions that create amazing images for our films
• Contribute to our efforts of solving NPR problems at the compositing level with blinkScripts and plugins

What You Bring:
• Experience programming in Python and C++
• Bachelor in Computer Science or equivalent
• Experience with Nuke's Python APIs, NDK, gizmos, BlinkScript, and compositing workflows
• A minimum of 3 years creating libraries, custom plugins, and UI tools for VFX studio
• Knowledge of compositing, lighting and studio pipeline development
• Knowledge of different artistic styles and mediums
• Experience with UNIX / Linux / git
• Knowledge of third-party graphics applications (e.g. Maya, Houdini, Katana, Unreal)
• Experience with USD
• Experience in the design and implementation of systems in complex libraries
• History of making tools for artists in a production environment (preferably stylized animated features)
• Knowledge of user interface design and standard UI toolkits, specifically QT/PyQT
• Proven ability to deliver high-quality software in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
