Sony Imageworks Vancouver is seeking a Roto Paint Lead!

Job Description
• Has experience in generating detailed Roto to create mattes for compositing tasks and a wide range of Paint skills using hand paint and procedural techniques such as projections.
• Candidate is accountable for briefing and QC'ing outsource vendors work for a specific show
• Able to 'fix' multiple types of shots from simple to moderately difficult.
• Responsible for shot deadlines, participates in rounds and team reviews of work in progress.
• Interact with production, supervisors and team in order to problem solve and share information related to show/ assigned tasks.
• Must be able to decipher as well as follow through on shot turnovers, dailies, briefings/ notes and feedback.
• Ability to work efficiently as part of a team or independently to resolve various creative solutions.

Requirements
• At least 5 years experience as a Roto Paint Artist in a VFX production environment
• A Mastery of Nuke including paint expression and 3D environment within nuke
• Knowledge of 3D tracking softwares and Silhouette
• An eye for detail and an understanding of colour and composition
• Leadership qualities, communication and problem solving skills
• Proactive and accommodating attitude
• Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize under pressures of a deadline driven production
