Technical Specialist, Architecture & Engineering - Studio Facilities

The Technical Specialist, Architecture & Engineering - Studio Facilities role assists the team that is responsible for maintaining a historic studio lot and other locations across the Americas portfolio. This role presents an opportunity to assist in modernizing, streamlining, and owning processes in architectural and engineering documentation. As well as drawing management across various disciplines in Facilities, including design, architecture, MEP, construction, and facilities administration. At times, this role will require leading or being a key player in special projects, such as the selection and implementation of a drawing management software, and/or determining a 3rd party vendor to implement and manage the drawing management process and software.

Responsibilities:

Architectural and Engineering Documentation and Drawing Management
• Organize and maintain architectural and engineering document library in hard copy and digital formats
• Coordinate with Project Manager to issue background drawings to outside architects and engineers
• Assure CAD documents received from outside architects and engineers meet SPE layering standards
• Manage 3rd party drawing management service and/or software
• Coordinate distribution of Issue for Construction documents in hard copy format to Sony construction and specialty trades
• Ensure redline as-builts are updated on the digital drawing set, either with outside architects and engineers, or internally
• Update and release drawings to Archibus for corporate offices, production offices, parking/security, sound stages, and general studio lot, etc
• Provide dimensioned plans and elevations to Studio Services/Events, and Studio Operations teams
• Poly lining and data input in Archibus
• Scan hardcopy documents to digital library
• Update lot maps
• Manage miscellaneous requests for drawings across various user groups
• Produce pricing and construction documents to support small in-house design/construction projects
• Conduct field verifications and update as-built drawings
• Create and maintain CAD drawings standards, detail standards, and space standards
• Create and maintain signage standards for all buildings in the Culver City portfolio

Architectural and Construction Administration
• Support Facilities Operations for architectural review and field conditions
• Conduct code reviews and respond to internal code inquires
• Respond to requests for information (RFI) and submittals
• Liaison with City Planning and Building Department
• Coordinate with SPE Government Affairs

Education, Years of Experience, Specialized Knowledge or Skills Required:
• Bachelor's Degree Required
• 2+ years experience
• Architectural and/or engineering background
• Strong understanding of construction documentation and building codes
• Strong critical thinking and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively
• Previous experience in entertainment, facilities, and property management is a plus
• Ability to produce 3D renderings is a plus
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment is necessary
• Strong computer program skills with an aptitude to learn new programs required
• Must be proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, Adobe Creative Suite, and basic Microsoft Suite programs, Bluebeam
