Job Description
The Principal Engineer will be a Senior member and of a team accountable for the maintenance and management of all SPE Global Messaging Services Infrastructure on MS O365, MS Exchange, MS InTune, MS Teams, SMTP and other Messaging and Collaboration technologies.

Principal Engineer is responsible for providing Infrastructure support functions including problem determination and resolution, technical solution development, policies, procedures and processes governing the use and operation of the company's global Messaging infrastructure assets.

This position requires an emphasis on Infrastructure problem management, project management as well as building and maintaining positive business relationships with the IT Organizations, clients, vendors, and other SONY global O365 support team (SONY GISC NWA). Fulfillment of responsibilities must be performed with a minimum amount of supervision.

Responsibilities:

1. System Engineering Support
• Team member on a team of ETS M365 Platform Support Team.
• Perform configurations of the Messaging environment (i.e., M365 hybrid environment, SMTP relay systems, InTune Mobility Devices backend, etc.)
• Establish standards for Messaging hardware and services for on-prem.
• Establish Messaging usage policies and communicate policies to affected audience(s).
• Develop performance management procedures for Messaging infrastructure.
• Manage and maintain Messaging resources, globally, throughout the enterprise.
• Manage IT Staff relationships to insure service levels and availability of all Messaging systems.
• Manage outages, identify root cause and resolve all Messaging issues within allowed service levels.

2. IT Operations Support
• Primarily responsible for working with SONY global M365 support team to troubleshoot any SPE related O365 suite tools (Exchange online, Exchange Online Archive, Teams, InTune backend)
• Primarily responsible for SPE's Production M365 tenant management (Exchange online, Exchange Online Archive, Teams, InTune backend)
• Manage outages, identify root cause, and resolve all Messaging issues within allowed service levels.
• Participate in the daily production meeting to report the status of production systems.
• Participate in the change control, production acceptance and event management processes.
• Participate in the development of operational procedures and policies.
• Participate in the development of a viable, cost-effective disaster recovery capability.
• Develop report monthly statistics and progress against internal and external service levels.
• Communicate change requests, issues and resolutions, event status as well other important matters to all areas of IT and customer departments.
• Identify, resolve and escalate business issues as appropriate.
• Manage after hours and on-call support.
• Manage Messaging capacity and provide Messaging utilization statistics to the capacity planner.

3. Develop and maintain project plans for medium to large sized Messaging projects

4. Provide oral and written status reports to IT management and customers

Requirements:

Competencies:
• Minimum 8 years employment in the IT industry working with a major systems and vendors.
• Minimum 3 years experience with MS 365 Cloud environment required.
• Minimum 7 years experience as a Messaging administrator including Mobile Messaging and Collaboration experience such as BES, Active Sync, IM/OCS,
• Minimum 3 years experience with Microsoft Exchange required.
• Minimum 5 years experience with Microsoft ForeFront, and other SMTP relay systems.
• Experience with Email Archiving and Exchange Migration Tools is a plus.
• Two or more years of entertainment experience is a plus.
• Bachelor degree or equivalent experience preferred.
• Domino, Exchange, and BES Certifications are a plus.

Knowledge of:
• Enterprise Messaging Administration (Microsoft M365)
• Mail System troubleshooting, performance tuning.
• Alternate Routing Administration, configuration, management, and support.
• Experience with various Messaging operations tools, performance monitoring tools, diagnostics tools.
• Experience in large heterogeneous Messaging Infrastructure environment

• Strong interpersonal skills are required. Ability to work effectively with team members, clients and other areas of the IT environment
• Strong written and oral communications
• Excellent problem solving abilities, strong decision making skills and make sound judgment decisions.

The anticipated base salary for this position is $115,500-$186,200. This role may also qualify for annual incentive and/or comprehensive benefits. The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location of the position.
