Executive Director, Digital Media Supply Chain Library Product Owner
SPE has approved the establishment of a Digital Media Supply Chain (DMSC) Program in order to drive a holistic vision for SPE's end-to-end digital media supply chain by acting as the point of integration between different teams across SPE that touch the DMSC, spear-heading DMSC transformational initiatives, promoting studio-wide adoption of DMSC best practices, and facilitating cross-divisional collaboration. The ED , DMSC Media Library Product Owner will be responsible for the effective operation, maintenance, adoption, and enhancement of the Studio Media Library with the objective of enabling a Trusted & Complete Media Library for the entire Studio.
Core Responsibilities:
• Day-to-day work with users/business units to ensure that the media library is delivering on their needs. ensuring that the Media Library is available to internal customers across the Studio without interruption.
• Perform as Agile Product Owner for Library solution including set product goals, maintaining, and prioritizing the product backlog, collecting feedback from users, customers, and stakeholders on the product increments, and agreeing on sprint goals with the developers. Adoption of new user groups and use cases, carefully documenting all requirements in accordance with standard DMSC nomenclature, policy, and specifications.
• Monitoring media and metadata policy compliance and escalating any recurring issues, including any deviations from standard studio specifications
• Working with IT on enhancements to accommodate new specifications and format requirements by Library customers.
• Providing recurring reports to Sr management on usage trends, asset volumes, quality, and overall completeness of the library. Additionally, responsible for product discovery and strategy work for Library solutions including maintenance of a Product Roadmap and product value as expressed through KPIs.
Education, Years of Experience, Specialized Knowledge or Skills Required:
• Proven experience in media management, and familiarity with digital formats commonly used within a studio environment.
• Experience in development and implementation of digital asset management policy, asset preservation strategy, and any required change management/training.
• Comfortable bringing together multiple stakeholders and prioritizing expectations across the organization.
• Detail oriented, analytical, can take complex ideas and communicate them in a way that allows for understanding and adoption.
• Involvement with and support of industry organizations such as EIDR, SMPTE, and/or HPA is a plus.
• Understanding of cloud computing and storage strategy within a media management context.
• Familiarity with Post-Production, Distribution, and Archival workflows
• Have a pulse on the state of the industry, best practices, and solutions available on the market.
• Proven ability to drive adoption and policy adherence across a large organization.
• Demonstrated ability to maintain operational excellence in metadata, nomenclature, and media management for the classification of assets across a large and diverse enterprise.
• Passion for productivity, using methods such as Getting Things Done, is a plus.
• Ability to build trust and rally support within a diverse, multi-disciplinary environment.
• Capable of prioritizing multiple inputs, projects, and deadlines while nimbly pivoting should the operation call for it.
• Openness to feedback from business partners and managers alike, showing a professional level of self-awareness and willingness to improve.
The anticipated base salary for this position is $145,000 to $190,000. This role may also qualify for annual incentive and/or comprehensive benefits. The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location of the position.
