DIRECTOR, PEOPLE & ORGANIZATION BUSINESS PARTNER (CORPORATE FUNCTIONS)

The Director, People & Organization (P&O) Business Partner will serve as a key Human Resources thought partner for Sony Pictures Entertainment's (SPE) Corporate Functions. This role will help execute the human capital strategy for Corporate teams, including Corporate Communications, Entertainment, Innovation, & Technology, Facilities, Finance, Government Relations, Information Security, IT, Legal, Procurement, and Safety, Security & Sustainability, based on the business and organizational needs.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate a combination of strong business acumen and significant Human Resources functional knowledge to execute the development of strategies that will attract, develop and retain the breadth of talent required to drive business success. This position requires an individual who will be proactive and anticipatory in approach, possess excellent judgment in a variety of situations, demonstrate superior written and verbal communication skills, have a high attention to detail, exemplify an energetic, poised, and positive demeanor, and demonstrate the ability to balance multiple priorities and work well in a diverse, fast-paced, team environment. As a representative of P&O, the successful candidate must also maintain the highest level of confidentiality and diplomacy regarding all matters.

This position reports to the SVP, People & Organization who is the head P&O Business Partner for the Strategic (Corporate) Functions and who supervises the Employee Relations & Policy and US-Immigration functions across the studio.

Responsibilities
• Align HR strategy to organizational strategy
• Participate in organization design conversations to streamline and implement new departmental structures, roles and/or processes that create speed and efficiency and support rapidly shifting business demands (e.g., role repurposing, restructures, joint venture integrations)
• Leverage metrics and analytics to inform P&O strategies, measure progress against organizational goals
• Execute change management strategies to support critical evolution of the business and achieve desired business results that are sustainable over time
• Keep business leaders and employee population informed; develop messaging, determine mechanisms for communication; promote organizational culture in employee communications
• Development of next generation of leaders
• Execute a lifecycle approach to talent planning and management focused on forecasting, partnering with talent acquisition, onboarding, development, performance management, and succession planning
• Possess a solid understanding of SPE's capabilities, critical roles, and key competencies
• Identify key talent segments and pivotal roles
• Develop employees through individual coaching and regular feedback
• Relationship and Operations Management
• Act as a strategic and tactical partner to business leaders as it relates to key P&O initiatives (e.g., compensation planning, contract negotiation process, coaching, talent planning)
• Facilitate roll-out and implementation of changes and updates to P&O initiatives
• Coach business leaders on diversity and inclusion, employee communication, development, and performance management strategies to promote engagement and a culture of continuous growth and development
• Track trends in employee behaviors to assess employee attitudes and develop solutions to improve workplace environment
• Develop close partnerships with P&O centers of excellence to deliver integrated solutions to P&O related needs
• Find innovative ways for leaders and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, increase productivity and efficiency

Required Qualifications
• 10+ years of global human resources generalist experience
• Strong knowledge and experience partnering with key HR centers of excellence, including Talent Acquisition, Benefits, Compensation, Leadership and Organizational Development, Employee Relations, and Diversity & Inclusion
• Exceptional client relationship management skills and demonstrated experience in developing consultative relationships with top executive leaders, including the ability to influence decisionmakers to think strategically and critically
• Broad business and financial understanding and the ability to apply to human capital implications
• Knowledge of employment and labor law
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
• Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously
• Strong project management skills
• Positive attitude and the ability to be proactive, resourceful, and flexible
• Detail oriented and excellent follow-through skills
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

• Bachelor's degree

Preferred Qualifications
• Experience as an HR Business Partner supporting Finance and/or Information Technology at a large, multinational organization
• Experience with change management initiatives, including project management and communications
• Experience with complex organizational design
• Master's Degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Labor Relations, Business Administration or a related field
