Director of International Participations and Residuals

Role and Responsibilities
The Director GFO PRA is responsible for overseeing all international participations, royalties and guild reporting for Sony Pictures Television International Production (SPTI) and Sony Pictures International Productions (SPIP). Supporting these fast-growing segments of the business will ensure all participation royalty reports are issued timely and accurately as well as British Equity (or other international guilds) and related audits. Other duties include:
• Writing agreement abstracts, setting up first-time statements in PAWS, analysing inputs such as production cost and third-party reporting, and calculating interest.
• Management and support for recurring statements including distribution of statements to participants.
• Liaising with SPTI and SPIP Business Affairs and Finance in both London and Culver City to resolve contractual issues, obtain appropriate approvals before statement issuance, and communicating potential roadblocks for all affiliates including (but not limited to) productions costs, revenues, and interactions models.
• Management of GFO-PRA international team in multiple locations.
• Tracking statements and timeliness of statements.
• Driving interaction models to develop strong communication and hand-offs with SPE stakeholders to ensure priorities are met, potential challenges raised in a timely manner, participant questions are answered as well as keeping GFO-RTR informed regarding production costs and revenue. Coordination and communication between RTR and business teams will be key.
• Tracking British Equity (and other international guilds) buy-outs, timelines and making associated payments.
• Strong understanding of the international motion picture industry and practices. Staying current with trends and changing markets.
• Supporting ''Talent Friendly'' process by ensuring Participation/ Royalty statements are issued in a timely manner, resolving participant or guild queries and being a knowledge partner for Legal and Business Affairs.
• Supporting local and other third-party audits as required by Home Office Third Party Audits team and assisting with settlement negotiations for local titles.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
BA / BS preferred. Accounting / Finance / Legal emphasis preferred.
3 - 7 years of Participations and British Equity experience. Other guild expertise a plus.
Preferred Skills
• Strong understanding of UK Participation/Royalty deals and British Equity and WGGB rules
• Knowledge of general accounting principles and ledgers
• Proficient skills in Microsoft Office applications, with strong Excel skills
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Experience with contract analysis and data modelling based on contractual terms, and reporting nuances
• Experience with process mapping and design a plus
• Ability to work independently, organise work efficiently, identify and meet deadlines
• Comfort with multitasking and managing multiple projects
• Strong logical and analytical skills
• Comfort with working remotely via Teams, or in person as job duties require
