Business Analyst, DCS IT Support, Content Platform Technologies

Sony Pictures Entertainment (SPE) is looking for a Business Analyst (BA) to join the IT team that supports the Distribution & Content Services (DCS) division. DCS is responsible for managing the lifecycle of feature-length and episodic content produced and acquired by SPE, including intake, mastering, localization, fulfillment/distribution, archiving and restoration.

DCS IT Support, part of the Content Platform Technologies (CPT) team, supports workflows critical to DCS, including a Project Management/Purchase Ordering system to manage media content lifecycles, a BI initiative to consolidate & analyze DCS activity tracked across multiple systems, and a vault management system for tracking archival data tapes and legacy film, video & audio physical assets.

The BA, reporting to the Senior Project Manager, will support the DCS IT team as it delivers initiatives, projects, system enhancements, change management, and application support critical to DCS and SPE, with the goal of delivering value quickly & efficiently.

Responsibilities include:
• Act as the first point of contact for all user requests and issues received by DCS IT
• Provide VIP support for key business stakeholders
• Maintain the team's Jira board: log all issues, documenting requests with sufficient detail to action/implement, route tickets to appropriate team members, and track all requests to completion
• Manage team metrics and work with the Jira administration team to define any customizations needed in support of those metrics
• Analyze, implement & manage guardrails, configurations, user accounts and security in all applications managed by DCS IT
• Work with Operations, Finance and Procurement to confirm that requested application configurations, such as rate cards, are implemented with 100% accuracy
• Manage incidents, escalate & track critical issues until resolved
• Work with users to reproduce & document reported issues, communicate findings with development teams to correct, confirm fixes, and obtain sign-off from users
• Work with IT teams that support DCS IT's portfolio to define requirements & issues, act as liaison to clarify questions with stakeholders, prioritize & track requests with IT teams, and test & confirm deliveries by IT teams
• Provide user support and training for applications in DCS IT's portfolio
• Create & maintain documentation for all supported applications, including runbooks, data dictionaries, quick reference guides, release notes, and training materials
• Support the Senior PM, Senior BA, and DCS IT team with requirements gathering & analysis, such as documenting workflows, capturing meeting notes, writing user stories & requirements, functional design, wireframes & screen-mockups, testing and training
• Support onboarding additional teams & workflows into applications managed by DCS IT
• Interact with stakeholders from various business units, including DCS, Finance, Procurement, and other IT teams
• Define training needs for new and existing functionality, create training documentation and conduct in-person & virtual training sessions for teams worldwide
• Manage the UAT process by demonstrating & testing new functionality, validating test cases, obtaining business approvals on UAT, and smoke testing after deployment
• Investigate new & unused features available in tools used by DCS IT Support, and new tools team can use, to deliver value to business customers faster & more efficiently
• Help DCS IT and development teams with proof-of-concepts, prototypes, and programming tasks
• Triage code-related production support issues during business hours using back-end browser tools, coordinate with Dev team to implement
• Build & automate scripts to load/update data in real-time to support business requirements
• Have the courage to ask difficult questions and provide/receive constructive feedback in spirit of continuous improvement
• Work with business to implement change management required to support initiatives & deployments
• Available to work with users and IT teams across different time zones

• Experience working with cross-functional teams using Agile methodology
• Experience supporting business units in person and remotely in time zones across the world
• Experience with Python, MS Dynamics and Visual Basic helpful
• Knowledge of Jira, ServiceNow experience helpful
• Knowledge of BI/reporting tools with Business Objects and Tableau experience helpful
• Knowledge of film/television/streaming industry and post-production workflows helpful

Education
• Bachelor's degree or related professional experience required
• Computer Science or related Information Technology degree preferred

Experience Required:
• Minimum 5 years of experience in IT or related technical professions
