Job Description
The People Relations Manager will support the People Relations team, working in partnership with legal counsel, PX (HR) Business and People Partners and is a significant contributor to key functions within the People eXperience (Human Resources) department and employees' experience across Sony Music Group (Sony Music Entertainment and Sony Music Publishing).
The People Relations Manager supports the Senior Director, People Relations with the administration of policies, programs and procedures that include best practice frameworks in order to promote positive, inclusive people relations and a thriving, diverse and healthy workplace culture.
This position reports to the Senior Director, People Relations who leads the People Relations, Policy functions across the Americas for Sony Music Entertainment. The People Relations Manager role handles routine to moderately complex people relations matters in consultation with and at the direction of the Sr. Director, People Relations.

As a representative of People Relations team, the successful candidate must also maintain the highest level of confidentiality and diplomacy regarding all matters.
What you'll do:
• Manage and resolve people relations issues, partnering with various teams (People Business Partners, Legal, DEI and Security).
• Manage and lead ER complaints or confidential investigations of claims of harassment, discrimination, bullying, retaliation, and other policy violations and provide guidance on outcomes, restorative solutions and communication.
• Use excellent interviewing, interpersonal and documentation techniques and utilize online case management system to report, document and track investigations. Provide recommendations for the appropriate course of action based on the outcome of the investigation.
• Manage and evaluate requests for reasonable accommodations. Lead the interactive process with employees and with managers to explore effective accommodations. Draft and handle correspondence related to accommodation requests, log and maintain sensitive information, track deadlines and maintain metrics.
• Review investigation cases and issues data to identify and analyze trends and provide quarterly reports with actionable feedback, insights and recommendations.
• Proactively evolve and improve the framework (procedures, policies, guidelines, toolkits, programs, etc.) used to support the company's goal of a global people promise that shapes culture and drives performance, including collaborating on the annual update of the People Handbook.
• Provide ad hoc guidance to People Business Partners on coaching employees, discplinary actions and performance management to drive consistency across the company.
• Partner and collaborate with the Legal department, Total Rewards, PX Business Partners, Talent Acquisition, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, PX Operations and Learning &People Development teams as needed.
• Maintain comprehensive knowledge of HR systems, programs, plans, policies, and processes.
• Design, develop and deliver ongoing employee relations and policy related training to the People team and managers.
• Participate in special projects as assigned.
Who you are:
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant work experience
• Strong knowledge of federal and state employment law, including HR and employee relations best practices and methodologies, including discrimination, harassment, conducting workplace investigations and performance management
• Experience working with HR information systems, including comfort utilizing reports to analyze data and trends
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including effective listening, interpersonal skills, demonstrated high EQ and the ability to build trust and influence.
• Exceptional organizational skills and demonstrated ability to prioritize and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, creative work environment
• Strong creative problem-solving skills, critical thinking and intuitive sense of business acumen
• Positive attitude and the ability to be thoughtful, proactive, resourceful, solution oriented, flexible and exercise good judgement
• Experience diffusing tension and effectively mediating conflict
• Ability to work independently and as a team player with a keen knack for building and maintaining effective relationships across the team and with employees
• Detail oriented and excellent follow-through skills
• Strong ethics and integrity, including the ability to maintain the highest degree of confidentiality and handle sensitive information and materials
• Strong work ethic; self-motivated with a desire to take initiative and look for ways to improve processes and create efficiencies
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Preferred Qualifications:
• 5 years HR experience, with at least 2 years experience conducting workplace investigations and managing accommodations
• Knowledge and familiarity working with investigation case management systems
• Fluency in Spanish is strongly preferred

The anticipated annual base salary does not include any other compensation components or other benefits that an individual may be eligible for. The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include as applicable, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.

$95,000 - $118,000 USD
