Job Description

What you'll do:
• Position is responsible for ingesting, deep tagging, and cleaning up Sony Music Entertainment's music catalog within the company's PITCH MUSIC LIBRARY SYSTEM
• Tag songs from Sony Music's extensive catalog with creative metadata for use in its licensing application, PITCH
• Identify the Genre, Style, Mood, Instrumentation, Dynamic and Vocal style, amongst other criteria in Sony Music's data taxonomy structure
• Research recordings to find relevant data corresponding to its commercial release
• Contribute to the continuous enhancement of the taxonomy
• Assist users in Film & TV and A&R with questions relating to the metadata and/or PITCH in general
• Report problems/bugs to the PITCH programmers in a detailed and thorough fashion
• Work with users in Film & TV and A&R in a data integrity context to refine the tags/methodology actively attributed to songs
• Other ad-hoc duties as may be required

Who you are:
• Bachelor's Degree in Music or Related Field/ Experience
• Proficient with MS Office, FTP Clients, iTunes
• Competency in basic, music-related Internet Research
• Experience testing and reporting bugs relating to web-based systems
• Advanced analytical skills
• Highly organized, detail oriented, resourceful, team player and work well under strict deadlines
• Punctual
• Loves music and musicology
