Video Editor / Producer

Sinclair Broadcast Group's News Team is growing! We are seeking experienced video editor/producers to be a part of our team to create content for our news platforms.

The ideal candidate needs to be nimble and knowledgeable on national and regional news and politics. Must be able to write, produce and edit video. We are looking for people with news experience and a track record of making smart content decisions. Strong creative and visual skills are musts.

Essential Duties and Requirements include the following:
• Experience with non-linear editing systems like AVID, Adobe Premiere, Edius or Final Cut Pro
• Edit multiple videos for broadcast/social media/digital per day
• Ability to edit text on video and tell a story 'silently' for social media
• Strong interest in news
• Edit multiple videos for broadcast/social media/digital per day
• Archive video for future use
• Gather video from multiple sources to enhance video stories
• Be an assertive team-player who can produce good stories under tight deadlines
• Technical knowledge of editing and photo equipment is required
• The ability to execute during breaking news events
• A self-starter and who can generate his or her own story ideas daily.
• The ability to demonstrate creativity in story-telling
• Ability to work under deadline and on a flexible schedule is required

Qualifications- To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
• Previous experience working in a team environment is a must
• Three years of video editing/producing experience
• Television news experience preferred, but not required.
