Our Director of Content Rights Management, reports to the Head of Programming and helps determine and maintain the data integrity of Sinclair Broadcast Group's (SBG) Rights processes across multiple business units to ensure all information and resources are coordinated and input to ensure proper running of SBG's Rights Management System.

Responsibilities include but aren't limited to:
• Leads a team of two who help to disseminate content rights information to support internal parties across all Sinclair product lines (Broadcast, National Networks, Tennis Channel, etc.).
• Manages the Rightsline system across extensive and complex libraries (syndicated, and otherwise for Sinclair's broadcast networks, OTT apps (B2C and B2B) as well as their SVOD / FAST (AVOD) channels to help the company make as much use of their content across platforms as possible.
• Adjusts and updates rights information to reflect the most recent status of active rights assigned to the company and available content.
• Maintains ongoing contact with SBG business units in order to manage user access.
• Makes executed contracts available to key stakeholders via the rights management system.
• Works with outside vendors where required in order to update rights information and maintain integrity of data.
• Establishes relationships with SBG personnel and service providers in order to provide support and training for various systems.
• Works in collaboration with SBG legal to handle requests and agreement changes as required.
• Co-ordinates rights avails and share with various team members via rights mgt system in order to support deal flow.
• Tracks content rights and maintains a database and serves as a key central resource for rights-related questions.
• Partners across Programming, Accounting, Scheduling, Content Acquisitions and Operations for end-to-end management of rights.
• Acts as the point of contact for the Rights Management Central team (RMC), keeping Sinclair networks and stakeholders abreast of revised terms, contract end dates, technical specification requirements and overall compliance for each piece of content as well as manage the archived deals.
• Drives user adoption as well as the execution and oversight of third-party software development as it pertains to Rightsline as a single source of truth for content rights and availability.
• Works closely with the product team for current state enhancements as well as future-facing integrations and optimizations of data and how that data relates to user needs.
• Works to maintain Rightsline as the most relevant source of truth for content rights, from a third-party catalog to accounting payment schedules, and title-level metadata/IDs and ensures proper compliance of said data to stakeholders.
• Creates regular and ad hoc reports and presentations for senior management as well as third-party vendors on a regular basis as it pertains to library and avails.

Requirements:
• 5+ years of relevant television experience with content rights management. For example, broadcast station, cable network, multicast network or studio
• Resourcefulness to effectively resolve problems and roadblocks as they occur
• Skilled communicating in succinct and effective manner
• Team player with previous experience managing people, setting KPIs and objectives.
• Accomplishment in establishing and formalizing business / operational workflow processes
• Proficiency in MS Office suite with ability to interpret contracted deal terms
• Detail oriented
• Ability to work independently
• Propensity to be future-facing and industry curious

The base salary compensation range for this role is $108,000 to $120,000. Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidates' relevant work experience, skills, certifications, and geographic location. Full time positions are eligible for benefits that include participation in a retirement plan, life and disability insurance, health, dental and vision plans, flexible spending accounts, sick leave, vacation time, personal time, parental leave and employee stock purchase plan.
