Job Description
With 185 stations in 86 markets and a broadcast history going back nearly 30 years, Sinclair's ever-expanding broadcast archive is a treasure trove of content waiting to be resurfaced for the digital age. As part of our expansion into original social and audio programming, we are looking for an immensely curious Archival Research Coordinator to review and catalogue our library of assets and work as a key researcher supporting various editorial initiatives. Areas you will explore in this role include News & Politics, True Crime, National History, Sports, Entertainment, and of course, cute kids and kittens.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Conduct thorough research through archival footage to identify compelling and untold stories.
• Analyze historical content and collaborate with digital producers to piece together compelling narratives, ensuring accuracy and context.
• Work closely with the editorial team to ensure that identified stories align with the organization's content strategy.
• Organize and maintain an extensive database of archival material for future reference.
• Coordinate with external archives and partners to access additional relevant material.
• Provide support in the scripting and planning phases of digital content production.

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., history, journalism, media studies) preferred, but not required.
• Excellent organizational skills to manage a vast amount of archival material efficiently.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams.
• Familiarity with digital content creation processes and storytelling techniques.
• Detail-oriented and capable of maintaining accuracy in historical research.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

The base salary compensation range for this role is $60,000 to $80,000. Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidate's relevant work experience, skills, certifications, and geographic location. Full time positions are eligible for benefits that include participation in a retirement plan, quarterly and annual incentive plan bonuses, life and disability insurance, health, dental and vision plans, flexible spending accounts, 15 paid vacation days, 2 paid personal days, 9 paid holidays, 40 hours of paid sick leave, parental leave, and employee stock purchase plan.
