The Production Editor will be part of the Simon & Schuster Children's Books managing editorial department and will be responsible for the scheduling, trafficking, and production editorial work of approximately 60 titles per year. The imprints that this person would work with produce picture books, middle-grade grade and teen fiction and nonfiction books, and graphic novels.
• Strong copyediting, proofreading, and organizational skills are needed to ensure quality and timeliness of books.
• 2–3 years of book production editorial experience is required.
• The ability to supervise freelancers with prior experience doing so is preferred.
• Strong Mac and InDesign skills are a must.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

The annual salary for this position is $62,000.00 - $65,00.00

The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York City, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement.
