Job Description
We are looking for a Director of Network Post Production Operations (NPPO) to oversee the day-to-day post-production delivery process from a top-level. The director will drive and uphold post-production operations for Viacom long-form deliveries, while serving as a liaison/translator between all business lines that use linear, studio, and/or digital content. The Director facilitates timely delivery of content with ample time to air to allow for appropriate promotion by internal creative teams and meet global broadcast and multiplatform distribution needs. Equally important is the implementation of efficiencies across ViacomCBS networks to streamline the episode delivery process across brands and prepare for future technologies.

Responsibilities & Duties
• The director is the brand liaison for specifically assigned ViacomCBS brands, to help handle the flow of information from other lines of business who do not work across multiple brands. You will be responsible for providing streamlined information and guidance to the NPPO teams, report information to upper management, and maintain the internal/external relationships as the NPPO head of their respective brands.
• Maintain active and open lines of communication with current series production, US programming, media operations and global content operations.
• Oversee your brands' high-profile properties, including live productions, tentpole events, and productions with a tight turnaround to distribution.
• Support all mid/low profile productions within your assigned brands, by advising the designated teams on each individual production.
• Lead monthly meetings with programming, production management and acquisitions teams to stay abreast of upcoming deliveries and maintain knowledge of future content deals.
• Coordinate with Viacom Media Operations, Content Operations, Programming, International multiplatform and the show post team to ensure clear understanding of delivery guidelines and ensure smooth delivery of new assets.
• Pro-actively seek opportunities to increase efficiency in asset delivery, streamlining of processes, and new workflows.
• Identify and implement standard methodologies for new series & season onboarding protocol and episode delivery.
• Prepare for emerging technologies within the NPPO workflows and their eventual incorporation into delivery processes.
• Build and maintain relationships with both internal and external production teams, Viacom technical and support teams, and programming teams.
• Stay up to date on the latest production technologies to best facilitate future episode delivery.
• Oversee and mentor the NPPO Hollywood Manager/Coordinator teams.
• Additional duties as assigned by the Vice President, NPPO.
Ongoing Duties
• Communicates and disseminates production guidelines requirements all teams for budgeting purposes at initial greenlight.
• Provide difficulty ratings for your brand's programming and assign corresponding NPPO manager/coordinator team to each project.
• Create Digital Server ID codes for all linear, studio, and digital episodic programming, in conjunction with the Network Operations Center by maintaining a standard taxonomy across all content.
• Lead post-production kickoff calls delivering to the networks, providing them with an overview of Viacom's delivery standards, and distributing subsequent email recaps.
• Vet production calendars to ensure that delivery dates meet the needs of all distribution outlets.
• Oversee creation of new records for all series, episodes, and versions in ShowMGR. Maintain accurate database of all deliverables across properties.
• Serve as a problem solver in long-form delivery process, and an intermediary between programming, encoding teams and productions to troubleshoot any issues that arise.
• Ensure proper file specifications are followed and that content adheres network formatting specifications, as well as Viacom legal and standards policies.
• Communicate with production staff when episodes fail QC & effectively explain the errors and redelivery processes.
• Communicate with production teams for delivery of assets, notify and maintain communication with appropriate Viacom supply chain support teams.
• Build bi-monthly reports for teams across Viacom detailing recent and upcoming deliveries to the digital archive.

Qualifications

• Understanding of production/post workflows and file specs including 4K/UHD, live and tentpole event workflows.
• Basic understanding of web application development/troubleshooting
• 10+ years television or digital production experience, at least 5 of which must be in a management capacity.
