JOB TITLE: Assistant to Chief Content Officer - TV & Film

POSITION SUMMARY :
The Assistant to the Chief Content Officer works to ensure the high-volume desk of the Chief Content Officer runs smoothly, and to provide thorough and analytical submission coverage to the Creative Development team.
This Assistant is responsible for handling calls, heavy scheduling, facilitating work-related travel, reading submitted books and scripts, writing coverage reports on writing samples and potential new projects for Shondaland, and being the primary gatekeeper for the Chief Content Officer.
This position is in Los Angeles and reports directly to the Chief Content Officer.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
• Rolls calls and tracks dynamic phone sheet, manages busy, evolving calendar, updates contact list, schedules conference room reservations, books meal reservations, handles technology updates and troubleshooting, researches and implements new organizational systems for both Chief Content Officer and Creative Content Department, and performs various administrative tasks as they arise.
• Books work-related travel arrangements and creates itineraries.
• Remains up-to-date and prepared at all times to discuss coverage on all materials, including story areas, outlines, and drafts for current projects and projects in development, as well as cuts of current projects.
• Reviews and distributes production documents such as call sheets, oneliners, shooting schedules, etc.
• Coordinates, schedules and sometimes transcribes notes calls, production calls, pitches, general meetings, work meals, etc - acting as liaison across various internal departments, production, partners, agents, managers, studios, and networks.
• Secures confidential documents, agreements and other sensitive information related to show production and, on occasion, personal matters.
• Develops creative sensibility via written notes and articulation of point of view in department meetings for Weekend Read twice per week and directly to the Head of Creative Development.
• Logs, reads and writes coverage on incoming submissions for development and staffing.
• Listens in on notes calls for both current shows and projects in development. Accompanies Chief Content Officer to table reads, spotting sessions and sets when appropriate and as needed.
• Ensures a clear and efficient operation by keeping the Chief Content Officer up to date on all relevant matters including, but not limited to: attendees' credits in advance of meetings, invitations to events and speaking engagements, coverage and status on submitted materials (writing & directing samples, specs, pitch decks, books, music, acting reels, articles, etc), new outlines/drafts, or anything timely and/or outstanding to be addressed.
• Remains prepared to cover for other assistants in the Department on a temporary basis.
• Some personal scheduling and research, as assigned by the Chief Content Officer.

• Ability to prioritize and to move between duties with ease.
• Understanding of production documents such as call sheets, oneliners, shooting schedules, etc.
• Maintain professional demeanor and discretion with regards to sensitive and highly confidential information.
• Eagerness to learn and advance knowledge in development, producing, and/or writing.
• Desire to be involved in the creative process and to supply and support a distinct point of view
• Aware of current events and popular culture, inquisitive and curious to learn about the entertainment industry.
• Ask lots of questions, collaborative, and inclusive team-player.
• Ability to take initiative and anticipate needs.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS :
• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university required.
• At least 1-2 years' experience in the entertainment industry required. Previous work on a high volume desk is preferred.
• Able to work flexible hours, including reading and research outside of office hours.
