Job Description
The E.W. Scripps Company is hiring a Head of Network Sales & Advanced TV who will lead the linear go-to-market strategy and drive long-term revenue growth across all Scripps national linear assets with a strong focus on digital growth in collaboration with the head of Local Media. In this role, you will drive incremental margin by selling the value of all Scripps assets with a specific focus on Advanced TV, CTV, Sports and News.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:
• Develop go-to-market strategy to achieve organizational goals by understanding the media landscape, the competitive marketplace, and assessing market conditions to identify opportunities.
• Ensure value propositions are effectively communicated in order to elevate the company and individual network brand positioning within all day-to-day interaction with clients and agencies.
• Prospect and negotiate best partners for revenue generating opportunities based on CPM analysis, demo compatibility and other metrics.
• Consistently evolve the way the team can extract value from the marketplace by using addressable and data driven linear strategies.
• While understanding that we are providing a video solution for advertisers, this person will be responsible for building and selling through a cross platform opportunities that deliver an audience regardless of video platform that the end user is using.
• Maintain countrywide client and agency relationships while accompanying sales leads/managers, account executives on client calls and agency meetings.
• Lead the Upfront process for the organization.
• Develop and drive integrated linear and digital sales offerings/packages that balance client needs and network priorities.
• Conduct weekly team meetings to ensure priorities are always top-of-mind and obtain status of key deals/marketplace information to assist with strategic planning.
• Maximize revenue and yield by optimizing inventory utilization between general market and direct response advertising.
• Partner with Chief Revenue Officer, business operations and finance to provide accurate and timely forecasts.
• Collaborate with the VP of pricing and planning on short and long-range strategies to maximize revenue.
• Work with the business operations and finance team on forecasting, budgeting, and the long-range plan.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
• BS/BA in related discipline preferred or equivalent years of experience
• MBA in related discipline a plus
• Generally, 15+ years of experience in related field preferred

WHAT YOU'LL BRING:
• Expertise in negotiating complex portfolio-based deals inclusive of linear and digital properties
• Ability to understand the complex and evolving client KPIs to execute a plan across Scripps
• Strong understanding of the Advanced TV marketplace inclusive of Data Driven Linear and Addressable capabilities
• Must have strong relationships at the C level across the advanced TV marketplace inclusive of data vendors, optimization partners, advanced tv agency leads and clients
• Must have the ability to energize and motivate a sales team while pushing them to think deeply about the needs of the business and develop a strategic plan
• Executive presence and acumen to present strategic long term vision concisely to executive leadership
• Significant experience in linear and digital advertising with a strong understanding of CTV
• A strategic thinker with the ability to interpret and act upon industry trends to identify new business opportunities, while maintaining a sharp focus on day-to-day execution
• Proven track record in cross-group collaboration with product, marketing, legal, finance, and operations teams
• Proven success in a fast-paced, startup environment
• Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills and ability to promote and sell concepts to team and customers
• Excellent organizational skills and analytical skills, including proficient PC skills in Microsoft Office applications
• Critical thinking skills to understand the broader impact across the organization
• Positive energy and the ability to manage stress and serve as a model for others in the sales practice

COMPENSATION RANGE:
Annual Salary: $450,000.00 - $500,000

Pursuant to state and local salary transparency laws, the salary range posted is specific to candidates who will perform this work in New York.
