As a Lighting Pipeline Developer, you will bring your deep knowledge of Katana multi-shot lighting workflows and tool development to help design and build a Houdini Solaris lighting pipeline. You will collaborate with our Houdini experts to introduce tried-and-true, studio-scale workflows to the Solaris framework and leverage your extensive production experience to create intuitive and self-documenting tools.

Key Responsibilities
• Architect, design, build and solve complex, systematic problems in the domain of Houdini pipeline workflows for lighting departments
• Gather requirements across large collaboration efforts that span multiple departments and/or disciplines
• Write technical briefs and user documentation
• Partner with software development leadership and pipeline team to identify and schedule tasks

Minimum Qualifications
• At least five (5) years of experience writing Katana pipeline code using Python
• Ability to write clean well structured Python code
• Understanding of object-oriented design
• Demonstrated talent for designing intuitive, artist-friendly workflows without sacrificing functionality

Preferred Qualifications
• Background as a lighter using Katana in production
• General understanding of rendering technology
• Familiarity with Deadline
• Familiarity using Houdini, especially writing pipeline code
• Familiarity with OpenUSD/ Hydra
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

$110,000 - $150,000 a year

This salary range is specific to applicants applying to our position in Vancouver, BC, Canada. To determine your base salary, we consider your qualifications, skills, and experience. These considerations can cause your compensation to vary outside of this range and will also be dependent on your location
