The Manager of the Technical Operations Centre (Internally known as Live Ops Producer III) is an active member of the live-event production team working in Riot's newly built Dublin Remote Broadcast Center (RBC). The TOC is responsible for ensuring signal quality and routing, conducting high-level media management activities and delivering finished programming to distribution partners and channels as a part of RIOT's live event TV production workflow.

As the inaugural Manager at the TOC, you will build and launch the department. One key component is the authoring of training modules, operating manuals and curating reference materials to develop and support the staff.

Through the efforts of a well-prepared staff and flawless execution, other teams will naturally come to depend on you and your department for knowledge and day-to-today event leadership. The TOC is expected to be the de facto hub of the facility where information will be available and questions can be answered.

In the TOC Manager role, you will report to the GM of the Dublin RBC. The position is based in the Dublin area.

Responsibilities:
• Review the daily schedule of events to organize and assign the work
• For each live event the TOC will establish the signal transmission paths between the remote site and the RBC, check quality of service, execute signal routing, signal ingest and media management functions, and ensure program distribution
• Create staff training modules, author operating manuals and curate reference materials to ensure and support consistency of the department's work product
• Using all of the tools at hand, lead departmental efforts related to communications with other operating areas.
• Manage staff of freelancers to meet the demands of the event schedule
• Be the point person with other departments to coordinate any additional needs or services for each production

Required Qualifications:
• College degree in a related field
• Six years' experience managing a Broadcast Transmission, Technical Operations Center or Broadcast Master Control environment involving live production
• Some broadcast experience can be substituted with an equal number of years' experience working with video signal transmission and processing vendors
• Understanding of media management platforms and workflows, including metadata logging, and media storage technology and operations
• An understanding of the conversion of baseband video to compressed video formats to facilitate archiving and delivery across a variety of networks and platforms

Desired Qualifications:
• Experience launching a TOC, master control or production center
• Experience in live sports production operations
• Experience and knowledge of broadcast master control operations including SCTE markers, downstream keyers for tickers, bug insertion, etc.
• Experience as a trainer, mentor and/or coach
• Working experience with any of the following DAM/MAM platforms: Iconik, Cantemo, Front Porch Digital or Dalet etc and media conversion tools like Adobe Media Encoder, Elemental Server, Telestream Vantage etc.
• Experience operating in a global work environment

For this role, you'll find success through craft expertise, a collaborative spirit, and choices that focus on your fellow Rioters, who are the customers of your work. Being a dedicated fan of games is not necessary for this position.
Our Perks:

We offer medical, dental, and vision plans that cover you, your spouse/domestic partner, and children. Life insurance, parental leave, plus short-term and long-term disability coverage are also available. Riot will support your retirement benefits with a company match, and double down on your donations of time and money to non-profit charitable organizations.
