Strategic Finance Analyst - Publishing

Job Description

As a Strategic Finance Analyst, you'll report to an Associate Director, Strategic Finance within Publishing. Your team works with senior commercial partnerships, strategic alliances, and localization leadership on all topics related to finance, budget, and deal structure. The Strategic Finance team at Riot is dedicated to helping our partners make the best decisions for Players. Our team contains experts from different Finance backgrounds, with a goal to provide Riot leaders with an understanding of the financial impact of meaningful decisions.

You will support partnerships, work within the Commercial organization, and budget for our Localization and Player support teams. You will work with your team and your partners to build strategic and financial plans; track, report, and advice on budgets and resource allocation; and develop and implement improvements to financial processes and systems to ensure better decision-making. Your financial craft expertise, coupled with a strategic mindset and player-value orientation will help you increase the efficiency and performance of a world-class Publishing organization.

Responsibilities:

Process Management and Financial Operations
• Build and maintain complex financial models to understand and report revenue related to Riot's Commercial Partnerships, Localization, and Player support teams
• Partner with central Finance, Tax and Treasury, Accounting, and Purchasing functions to serve the needs of the Commercial organization and Riot as a whole
Operational Strategy and Strategic Planning
• • Assist in preparing and managing forecasts and strategic plans
• Help prepare and manage revenue forecasts and strategic plans for Commercial organization within the Publishing pillar
• Aid in the development of financial frameworks that guide senior leaders to think through complex or ambiguous resource allocation problems
• Work with teams to improve financial and operational processes
• Support the Associate Director and Commercial leadership in achieving future revenue targets through the identification, evaluation, and ultimate capture of revenue and expense opportunities
• Create communication materials such as models, presentations, and other forms of written documentation, tailored to the right audience level (e.g. management seniority, area of expertise)
• Help partner with other pillars to understand Riot's B2B assets and be a resource toward maximizing the value of said assets
• Assist and lead ad hoc analysis and projects as directed by leadership

Required Qualifications:
• 3+ years experience in a management consulting, investment banking, corporate strategy, or corporate finance role
• Experience managing analysis of complex or ambiguous problem spaces spanning multiple organizations
• Knowledge of financial systems for planning and reporting
• 2+ years of modeling experience with Excel (can perform complex functions) and Google Sheets
• Experience working in the following topics relevant to Publishing:
• Business Development or Commercial Partnerships
• Gaming, Media, Technology, or Entertainment Strategy
• Organizational structure or operating model design
• FP&A or Financial Operations

Desired Qualifications:
• Experience with business development and strategic partnership teams, from both strategic and financial perspectives
• Familiarity with common business models across the gaming, media, and entertainment industries
• Be able to model the value and profitability of partnership deals or strategic alliances
• International work experience working with partners of multiple cultures
• Passionate about games and the player experience; able to empathize with the joys and plights of players
• Knowledge of tools that can automate and simplify financial data analysis and visualization (examples include VBA, R, Alteryx, Tableau, and Looker)

(Los Angeles Only) Base salary range between $111,700 USD - $156,400 USD + incentive compensation + equity + 401K with company match + medical, dental, vision, and life insurance + short and long-term disability + open PTO.
