As the Senior Engineering Manager on the Merchant Guild team under League's Player Immersion and Expression initiative, you will lead the delivery of multiple features and content to our players across the globe. Content is core to the League experience. The Merchant Guild team focuses on creating new and expressive content, creative approaches to discovering and acquiring content, and immersive experiences that delight the players of League of Legends and Team Fight Tactics.

You will report to the Director of Engineering, Player Immersion and Expression initiative.

Responsibilities:
• Create and refresh an engineering vision with teams and key stakeholders including the Technology, Product, and Process Leads.
• Support the vision with a solid strategy including the reallocation of resources to focus on priorities.
• Collaborate with leaders to prioritize and deliver the highest-value work on teams
• Identify and hire software engineers and managers to help teams scale.
• Mentor managers, technical leaders and provide frameworks to them to grow engineers and other leaders.
• Manage the health and performance of engineering teams building trust, holding a high for engineering excellence, and inspiring them to overcome challenges.
• Provide technical expertise and oversight throughout the product life cycle including in software design, construction, and delivery of features while improving the software engineering practices

Required Qualifications:
• 6+ years experience as a software engineer
• 4+ years experience as an Engineering Manager leading a team of 7+ engineers.
• Experience building reliable, scalable, and maintainable software systems.
• Experience with software development, including shipping one or more products on large code bases that span a range of platforms and tools.
• Experience collaborating across departments to create solutions.
• Experience driving results through other leaders including technical leads and engineering managers.

Desired Qualifications:
• 6+ years of experience working with one or more programming languages such as Java, JavaScript and their respective ecosystems.
• Organizational Design and project management skills.
• Experience running a live Game-as-a-Service
• Game industry experience with one or more shipped titles
