We are building a tech-savvy International Accounting team that is passionate about Riot's mission and values and committed to working directly with cross functional teams to advise and collaboratively solve some of our most challenging business issues, allowing teams to make good decisions, solving key operational issues and helping them act in the best interest of Riot.
As a Senior Financial Accountant, you will be mainly involved in the general accounting operations of Southeast Asia (''SEA'') region in Riot Games. Your hands-on accounting experience and understanding of accounting principles ensure the general ledger is keeping Riot on a firm footing.
You will play a pivotal role in maintaining accurate financial records while supporting the accounting team for existing and new compliance requirements, or detecting and recording unusual transactions. Most importantly, this role requires someone who understands Riot's mission and values and is committed to helping teams creatively solve business problems.
Responsibilities:
• Prepare the journal entries such as accruals, prepaids, fixed assets and various general accounting within our established month-end reporting schedule.
• Responsible for month-end close activities including balance sheet reconciliations, flux analysis and liaising with outsourced accounting providers to prepare local ledgers and reporting packs.
• Understand accounts, investigate fluctuations, monitor trends, identify unusual transactions, research the proper accounting treatment and propose a resolution
• Address accounting issues related to new transactions by investigating the facts, and researching the proper accounting treatment under local and US GAAP
• Support the accounting team in audit and compliance-related activities, including preparation of audit schedules, responding to auditor inquiries and supporting internal controls processes
• Improve existing processes by finding ways to add efficiency or quality, including through system enhancements and improved data integrity
• Be flexible and willing to take on additional responsibilities as needed
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance or CPA, CA Singapore, or ACCA certification
• 4+ years of experience in public or corporate accounting, with 3+ years in a Big 4 assurance role.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Detail-oriented and with strong documentation and organizational skills
• Collaborative team player who devotes into the team to harmonize and encourage discussion on alternative and unconventional approaches
• Proactive attitude to solve problems and ask questions
Preferred Qualifications:
• Knowledge of ERP systems (Oracle)
• Experience in gaming, entertainment, or technology industries
• Experience with US reporting and cross-regional reporting, including Southeast Asia entities
• Experience using advanced excel (power query) and tools or automation to improve accounting processes
