We partner with our LA headquarters on game development for League of Legends, Teamfight Tactics, and Legends of Runeterra. We're also building teams for VALORANT and Project L, our take on a fighting game. The Singapore Studio is seeking talented, passionate Rioters with backgrounds in all areas of game development to build games that make it better to be a player.

The mission of Technical Art at Riot is to establish and improve the systems, tools, pipelines, and workflows that unleash the creativity of our artists and allow the production of the best possible art content for our players.
As a Lead Technical Artist - Characters for Project L, our unpublished fighting game, you'll act as a bridge between characters artists, engineers and animators supporting art production across a variety of character art & animation disciplines.
You will work closely with the Technical Art team to strategize, supervise, architect and innovate the whole character pipeline, from modeling to animation.
You will report to our Senior Manager, Technical Art.
• Help Design and Build a solid pipeline for characters creation and animation allowing high-quality assets with good degree of scalability and an Artist-Friendly Iterability
• Level up the end-to-end workflow for our many art disciplines, such as Character Art, Animation, Cinematics and VFX
• Provide technical support to artists working from our art workflows, collecting data to further improve the tools they are using, making recommendations and improvements where necessary
• Groom and manage a small team of talented Technical Artists/Animators
• Produce technical assets and Prototype new art assets (such as shaders/materials)
• Collaborate with production to develop a long-term strategy to maintain and evolve the art workflows for your product
• Collaborate hand in hand with Environment Tech Artist to maximize potential pipeline and quality synergies
• Build close relationships with the artists and engineers you work alongside with to better understand their needs and collaborate on designs and workflow solutions
• 5+ years experience as a Technical Artist in games or related industries
• Solid experience with 3D characters topologies and rigging
• Expertise in game development using modern engines, such as Unreal, Unity, or equivalent internal engines
• Expertise in content creation and tool development in DCC tools, particularly Maya and Photoshop
• Skilled at Python scripting/programming
• Solid knowledge of Unreal Engine Characters and Animation Tools and Pipelines, namely Blueprint toolsets
• Experience in implementing Soft-Bodies and other dynamic character pieces and accessories
• Experience with Characters modular customization pipelines and mindset
• Comfortable writing C# and C++
• Experience in shader writing (HLSL/GLSL), Especially for stylized look
• Bilingual English/Mandarin is a plus
