Job Description

We are building a tech-savvy International Accounting team that is passionate about Riot's mission and values and committed to working directly with cross functional teams to advise and collaboratively solve some of our most challenging business issues, allowing teams to make good decisions, solving key operational issues and helping them act in the best interest of Riot.

This role will report to the Accounting Manager and play a pivotal role in maintaining accurate financial records while being a lead on a number of projects for new compliance requirements or unique transactions. Most importantly, this role requires someone who understands Riot's mission and values and is committed to helping teams creatively solve business problems.

Key Responsibilities
• For all of EMEA entities you will own a number of sections for monthly group reporting including Lease Accounting, Bonus Accounting, Intercompany Loan Accounting, Cash Investment Accounting (MMF) and ARO accounting. You will be responsible for raising the monthly journals, preparing the monthly reconciliations, updating monthly reporting packages and answering queries from the central consolidation team on changes to these sections monthly.
• You will own the accounting and disclosures for Leases, Share Based Payments, Intangibles, Intercompany loans, Cash Investments and ARO's for all of Riot EMEA's Statutory Financial Statements. You will work closely with the GL team to make sure the correct figures and disclosures are made taking into account requirements of the Local standards/GAAP. You will also own the audit of these sections and disclosures. In addition you will own any other reporting requirements on these sections to local authorities.
• Monthly you will work with our revenue team to review the AR ageing reports and work together on aged balances.
• Monthly you will own the intercompany reconciliations and ageing across EMEA. You will work with leadership on settlement planning and make sure correct agreements are in place and the correct accounting is being followed
• You will be responsible for ESG reporting across EMEA- working with teams across Riot to understand the reporting requirements across each of our countries and putting the reporting framework in place
Other Responsibilities
• You will also work as project lead on a number of emerging reporting and compliance requests. You will work across teams in Riot and with external partners to understand the requirements, risks and put a delivery plan in place. Includes areas such as entity liquidation planning and new local governmental reporting needs. Effective time management and proactive stakeholder communication will be crucial for achieving success in this role.
• You will independently and in collaboration with teams such as tax, legal, and HR, analyze unusual and unique transactions to understand the underlying facts and their implications on Riot's business, striving towards a collaborative resolution.
• An investigative mindset is key to this role's success as Riot grows. You are a person who is comfortable independently researching topics and deep diving into issues. You have a thirst for knowledge and grasping the facts, you carefully evaluate various solutions and are able to present findings/options for leadership to consider and sign off.
• Speak for the numbers, answering finance-related questions through exploratory data analyses and ad-hoc reporting
• You have clear and fact driven communication skills and know how to keep stakeholders informed and working towards your end goals

Required Qualifications
• You have bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or business
• You are ACA, CPA or similarly qualified
• You are Big 4 trained in assurance, with 2+ years post Qualified experience in practice or industry -experience on leading projects and transaction work is a benefit
• Strong interpersonal skills, including verbal, written, listening and communication skills
• Ability to think outside the box, challenge convention and creatively partner with the team. Must embrace Riot's mission, culture and values.
• You can create reports and analyses using Excel and associated accounting software like Oracle
