Job Summary

As the Seasonal Assistant, Youth Baseball and Softball, you will serve as the main support function for the Pirates Youth Baseball and Softball team, supporting the Manager of Youth Baseball and Softball, under the Executive Director of Pirates Charities and Community Engagement. This role will focus on assisting with the execution of various community outreach programs specific to youth baseball and softball including, but not limited to, Pirates PLAY Ball activities, Game of the Week program with Audacy, and Learn to Play programming at local schools and community centers. In addition, the role will help lead in-ballpark YBBSB experiences at PNC Park such as on-field recognitions, Dugout Buddies, Play Ball Kids and fulfilling community ticket requests for local teams and leagues. The position will also help execute all Pirates camps and clinics at PNC Park or in the community. Additionally, this role will help identify and supply storytelling opportunities to the Pirates Marketing team to help highlight local youth, coaches and teams who are worthy of recognition.

Responsibilities

Primary:
• Support the Manager of YBBSB in day-to-day functions.
• Assist in the operation of Pirates RBI and Jr. Pirates.
• Develop and maintain a database of all YBBSB contacts, teams, leagues throughout region.
• Assist with all YBBSB activity in the community.
• Assist with planning and executing YBBSB moments at PNC Park.
• Assist with the planning and execution of all Pirates camps, clinics, etc.
• Oversee all ticket requests from local YBBSB teams and leagues.
• Assist with YBBSB storytelling moments through various Marketing channels.
• Visit local games to engage with players, coaches, and fans with Pirates players and/or mascots.
• Available and ability to work gamedays as needed throughout the season.
• Support the team in all large-scale events.
• Tasks/projects as assigned by the Executive Director of Pirates Charities and Community Engagement.

Requirements

Required:
• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution.
• Experience in Sports Marketing, Marketing, Community Relations, or related fields.
• Experience in private baseball/softball instruction, coaching High School level or above, or any playing experience.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).

Desired:
• Experience working events.
• Experience in sports community relations area.
• Passion for volunteerism and/or community engagement.
