This position reports directly to the Director of Marketing and is a key member of our collaborative and driven team. In addition to partnering with the Marketing Director on the development and execution of social and influencer strategy, the Marketing Associate will lead 5-7 author-facing marketing campaigns per year across a range of high-profile nonfiction titles. Specific responsibilities include:
• Own and execute social media brand strategy across platforms (Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, LinkedIn, X, Facebook) for our Portfolio and Thesis imprints. Plan, create, and manage organic social media content that drives awareness and engagement.
• Monitor analytics and optimize performance based on platform trends, algorithm changes, and campaign KPIs
• Help manage influencer outreach and content creator partnerships
• Develop and lead 5-7 full-scale marketing campaigns per year, working directly with authors and agents throughout each campaign cycle
• Maintain strong author and agent relationships, delivering timely communication, creative strategy, and reporting
• Provide administrative support to meet seasonal sales deadlines, create sales-facing presentations, update key databases, process invoices, and track inventory and bulk orders
Please apply if you meet the following minimum qualifications:
• 2–4 years of experience in a marketing or social media role (in publishing, media, or adjacent industries)
• Proven experience leading marketing or social campaigns from strategy through execution
• Demonstrated expertise in managing social media accounts and developing engaging content
• Skilled at platform-specific storytelling, especially on LinkedIn, Instagram, and TikTok
• Strong writing, communication, and visual storytelling skills
• Experience with design/video tools such as Canva, CapCut, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar
• Highly organized with excellent project management skills
• Comfortable presenting campaign plans and results to both internal teams and external stakeholders
Preferred qualifications:
• Publishing experience or familiarity with the book industry
• Experience working directly with high-profile talent, authors, or public figures
• Influencer marketing or creator outreach background
• Familiarity with SEO, newsletters, or podcast promotion
• Advanced video editing or multimedia production skills
