Job Description
Penguin Random House is seeking an editorial assistant to join our dynamic team at DK, #1 New York Times bestselling publisher of influencer-led books on food & drink, fitness, health & nutrition, self-help, parenting, gardening, crafts and more. T his is an exciting opportunity for an organized, self-starer to provide title management and administrative assistance to a team that has seen rapid growth due to an increase in influencer-led readership.

DK is a globally-focused imprint of Penguin Random House, the world's largest general trade book publisher. Bestselling authors include Joshua Weissman, Rachel Farnsworth, Erin Stern, Barbara Costello, Erin Stern, T.J. Hoegh, Samira Kazan, and Destini Ann Davis.

Job Duties:
• Sets up and updates as needed new book projects in the company's various title management systems;
• Ensures publication plan is kept up-to-date and shared with key stakeholders;
• Tracks contracts, payments, and sets up new authors and contributors in Penguin Random House systems;
• Provides administrative support to publisher and six editors, including liaising with contracts, royalty accounting, and customer service, and other departments;
• Mails books and other book-related materials to authors, agents, and key stakeholders within DK and Penguin Random House;
• Files required book documentation to the US Copyright Office and Library of Congress
• Maintains an organized digital filing system;
• Orders office supplies as needed
• Prepares materials for US and international sales and marketing teams;
• Takes meeting minutes and distributes them to meeting attendees.

Job Requirements:
• 1-2 years previous office or related experience
• Strong organization, attention to detail, and follow-up skills
• Proven ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and multi-task
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work well independently and as part of a team
• Knowledge of Google Suite and Microsoft Office
• Familiarity with YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, Twitter, and other social networking platforms
