Position Overview:

As a Senior member of the Business Development team, you play a vital role in expanding PBS's digital footprint by supporting its third-party distribution initiatives. This person will be empowered to explore new ideas, channels, and technologies, setting the stage for future digital partnerships, including third-party monetization opportunities. This role offers an unparalleled opportunity to support PBS' mission within the ever-changing media distribution landscape while having fun doing meaningful work.

Reporting to and working closely with the Vice President of Business Development, you will help to identify, develop, and support our OTT and third-party distribution partnerships for PBS Kids, national programming, and our member stations' local content. This person will handle multiple partners and projects simultaneously to address the needs of various stakeholders, including PBS partners, internal departments, PBS member stations, producers, and others whose participation will impact PBS partnerships. Additionally, this position will partner with the PBS Station Services and Legal teams to identify, understand, and communicate PBS's objectives and requirements during partner negotiations and launches.

Location: We are open to remote candidates, but preference will be given to applicants located near/on the east coast (remote) or in the Washington DC Metropolitan area (hybrid). Relocation assistance available.

Key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
• End-to-end deal negotiations, including developing, executing, and managing third-party digital distribution partnerships, including preparing and presenting strategic deal reviews to the senior management team.

• Identify and evaluate new partnership opportunities, including supporting documents and models for potential partnerships that expand the PBS Digital linear programming footprint, e.g., syndication distribution, OTT applications, emerging digital and streaming platforms.

• Work closely with PBS Kids business leaders to build and lead PBS Kids third party distribution strategy, including goal setting across our portfolio of games and video app to drive audience growth.

• Grow and manage partners' pipeline and existing partnerships, and provides a cadence of reporting, reviews, and check-ins to stay aware of partners' new products and services offerings.

• Partner with the Marketing and Communications teams to develop materials to educate external prospects and partners on PBS's mission, programming, and partnership value exchange.

• Participate in contract negotiations with Legal for key partnerships, representing PBS and its Member Stations' position and objectives.

• Work closely with Station Services and Product teams to solve, scale and streamline distribution for PBS partners, including gathering and communicating partner's operational and technical requirements during the early stages of partner discussions.

Requirements for success:
• 7+ years of experience in business development, partnerships, partner marketing, sales, account management, or equivalent field.

• 3+ years of experience with media, digital distribution and/or OTT, Fast Channels / or gaming Apps, ideally in the kids educational space. / or gaming Apps, ideally in the kids educational space. and/or gaming Apps, ideally in the kids educational space.

• Understanding of vMVPD and MVPD-based linear ecosystem and general knowledge of OTT video distribution technology.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills, able to influence and articulate clearly and effectively.

• A team player with a proactive attitude and experience managing cross-functional initiatives, ability to track, prioritize and drive multiple concurrent projects forward.

• Self-starter with ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within cross-functional teams in a dynamic and ever-changing environment.

• Strong interpersonal skills able to build rapport and trust across business functions and with new business relationships.

• Strong financial, analytical, negotiation, and creative problem-solving skills.

• 20%-25% travel requirement for partner meetings, conferences and for non-local applicants in person PBS office visits.
