Position Overview

The Digital Operations specialist is responsible for the support and troubleshooting of all digital operations at MPD (Multiplatform Distribution). This includes support of our on premises storage volumes, digital asset creation workflows, digital asset delivery methods, archiving systems and automation profiles. The Digital Operations Specialist works as the liaison between clients, outside broadcasters and our internal facility, identifying their distribution needs, resolving video, audio and file processing specifications and facilitating the creation of transcode, automated QC and distribution projects to ensure that the broadcaster receives assets that work in their environment, in the most efficient and cost effective method.

Primary Responsibilities
• Responsible for onboarding processes for all new and existing broadcasters which includes broadcaster video and audio specification review, encode & transcode project builds, and delivery method setups.
• Handle the onboarding processes for all Internal and external client requests.
• Onboarding of new production houses for our cloud-based portal for file deliveries.
• Support internal and external users and troubleshoot account & connectivity issues within cloud-based portal
• Support Aspera Faspex, Aspera Console, Signiant and SmartJog accounts, as well as troubleshoot connectivity issues.
• Troubleshoot Vantage, Amberfin, Premiere, Post Producer and Baton project questions and issues.
• Cleanup of our NetApp Storage Volumes, including daily assessment of space availability.
• Daily maintenance of Motion Client, including successful and failed file transcodes, restores and archives.
• Exclusively research, coordinate and handle encode & transcode workflows, video specifications, audio requirements and delivery methods for 300+ broadcasters for automation.
• Identify services and associated rates for client ordering.
• Ensure all production obstacles are overcome and that MPD's goals and requirements are met.
• Work with inter-departmental managers to resolve client and broadcaster workflow issues.
• Work with technical and administrative teams as needed to test and refine internal systems.
• Recommend and implement workflow and procedural changes as the technology evolves.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess the following knowledge, experience, and talents:

Basic Qualifications:
• 1+ years of experience in the media & entertainment industry relating to one or more of the following areas – metadata management, digital video and audio, asset management systems/platforms, multimedia formats, international or syndication.
• Thorough understanding of production and media supply chain's workflows, and standard methodologies is a must
• AWS cloud practitioner certification is required.

Additional Qualifications:
• 2+ years of experience with customer service, content management practices and video/audio formats and standards.
• 2+ years of experience managing media distribution systems and platforms.
• A thorough understanding of international, streaming and domestic broadcast specifications.
• Excellent teamwork, written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and multi-task under shifting deadlines within a high pressure, fast-paced environment.
• A self-motivated, teammate who is results and detail oriented.
• A passion for media and entertainment is a must.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Hiring Salary Range: $55,000.00 - 65,000.00. The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York City, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement.
