Benefit Analyst

Reporting to the Benefits Manager, the Benefits Analyst under minimal supervision, provides analytical and technical support in the delivery of the benefit programs to ensure smooth administration of group plans for a fast-paced, large, best-in-class organization. Manages assigned projects, engaging internal and external resources to ensure timely completion. Serves as subject matter expert for administration and governance of health, welfare and retirement plans. This exciting and important role will be integral in providing support to the benefits team.

This role is based in IRVING, TX.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

Responsible for the administration of the health and welfare benefit plans in accordance with plan documents, federal and state laws, to include the interpretation of benefit programs and procedures for all plans.

May act as the department liaison with vendors to facilitate resolution of system related issues pertaining to benefits.

Works with internal staff and external vendors to arrive at resolution.

Support annual non-discrimination testing and audit work.

Respond to employee 401(k) inquiries.

Provide support with ad-hoc health & welfare related projects, including creating benefit plan comparisons and summarizing reports.

Respond to health & welfare related employee inquiries, research issues, and summarize trends.
Review benefit communication materials for content accuracy.

Support Leave Analyst as needed with responding to employee inquiries.

Support M&A activity during due diligence and implementation.

Participate in annual enrollment activities, including user acceptance testing.

May run ad-hoc reports in data warehouse.

May participate in other ad-hoc projects.

Qualifications

EDUCATION And EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from 4-year college and Or a minimum five years of benefits administration and technical knowledge, supporting large, complex benefit programs.

Knowledge of benefit regulations (COBRA, HIPAA, ERISA, IRS Section 125, FMLA, ADA, etc.)

Project management experience a plus.

Communication Skills

Ability to comprehend, analyze and interpret various types of business documents.

Ability to effectively respond to complex inquiries or complaints from clients, co-workers, supervisor and/or management.

Ability to present information to an internal department and/or large groups of employees.

Exceptional interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse culture, including peers and management staff at corporate and in the field .

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to effectively plan and prioritize.

Comprehensive ability to analyze data and effectively problem solve.

Innate understanding of how to prioritize work with minimal direction.
OTHER SKILLS And ABILITIES

Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office Suite.

Highly effective data management skills; process orientation and attention to detail.

Extensive knowledge of all pertinent federal and state regulations, filing and compliance requirements both adopted and pending affecting employee benefit programs, including federal and state law.

Team player, able to communicate ideas honestly and clearly and respect views and opinions of others on the team.

Self-starter. Ability and desire to work in a fast-paced environment.
