Job Description

A full-time Associate Producer, Broadcast and Digital Content writes, updates, and shares local multi-platform stories, I.E., local news, breaking news, trending topics, and lifestyle.

Looking for a passionate producer who takes initiative and thinks critically and independently.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Works with Producers and Hosts in creating and executing compelling content
• Ability to think outside-the-box
• Scans for relevant and local viral moments to use as content for the show.
• Times the show in the booth
• Contacts potential guests and prepares them for interview.
• Proofreads through rundowns ensuring all elements including, copy, graphics, and video are correct.
• Conducts Skype tests for upcoming interviews with clients & guests
• Pitches on-brand local and trending stories during morning meetings
• Assists in most aspects of Digital content
• Posts digital content such as interviews, behind - the - scenes, and Host content for live mid-day show
• Promotes guests, segments, and franchises using digital platforms.
• Expert understanding of Facebook, Twitter, and other social media platforms
• Manage passive livestreams (when applicable)
• Generate meaningful audience engagement on social media

• Strong writing skills
• ENPS
• Excels in fast-paced, sometimes high-pressure, work environment with accurate, visual, in-depth, digital coverage
• Comfortable with cold calling to develop stories
• Highly detail-oriented with excellent newsroom judgment
• Ability to multi-task; flexible with schedule
• Possesses journalistic integrity and understanding of viewer needs and expectations
• Can communicate, coordinate, and collaborate with other members of the newsroom
• Must be able to work well under deadline pressure
• Must take an active role in discovering and creating new content for the site; including stories, photos, videos, etc.
• Must be able to work autonomously and be self-motivated
• Must have attention to detail; copy editing, grammatical and writing skills
• Must have strong people and leadership skills to work with everyone in the newsroom and station

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
• Degree in journalism or relevant field; daily newspaper or news site experience required; live, working web samples and/or print pages preferred
• Proficiency in Associated Press style, Adobe Photoshop, Dreamweaver, and ENPS preferred

WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
High stress, high energy environment with deadline pressures. Valid Driver's License required. Some travel may be required on rare occasions.
