The Minor League Nutrition Coordinator will serve as part of a comprehensive player development team in a high-performance baseball setting. The nutrition coordinator will collaborate with the Yankee sports medicine staff, performance science team, mental skills department, strength and conditioning coaches, clubhouse staff, and baseball skill coaches. The primary responsibilities of the nutrition coordinator will be to provide a safe, sufficient, and quality driven food service experience across all minor league affiliates as well as apply evidence based educational materials, hydration strategies, recovery strategies, and injury management to all minor league players. Additionally, the nutrition coordinator will adhere to established best practices for player wellness, counseling, supplementation, special dietary needs, and body composition. This position be based in Tampa, with periodic travel to minor league affiliates.
Qualifications
• Must be eligible to work in the United States
• Bilingual (preferred, but not required)
• Registered Dietitian with active registration by the Commission on Dietetic Registration
• Board Certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (preferred)
• CPR/AED/First Aid Certification
• Strong background in food service with catering proficiency
• Previous experience providing food service and nutrition care in a collegiate or professional setting
• Servsafe Manager Certification
• Proficient bookkeeping as it pertains to catering and supplement budgets
• Ability to accurately measure and document body composition and hydration testing
• Ability to procure, stock, and manage inventory of NSF for sport certified supplements
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to create engaging relationships with coaches, medical staff, performance science staff, and players to effectively communicate information
• Attention to detail in planning, organization, and execution of tasks
• Demonstration of creativity and initiative- always looking to improve performance and processes while also displaying a willingness to be detail oriented
• Ability to work unconventional hours with travel as assigned
