Job Description

NetherRealm Studios, a division of WB Games Inc is looking for a Senior Cinematic Artist to join our team.

The Senior Artist, Cinematics is responsible for creating cinematic content across Story, In-Game, and Mobile utilizing traditional filmmaking principles and 3D computer graphics knowledge on in-house proprietary tools as well as standard industry packages.

The Daily
• Implement, polish, and/or create Cinematic scenes
• Evaluate cinematic content in Engine
• Review and Validate externally produced cinematic content
• (polish based on final Character and ENV assets, troubleshoot and fix outsourcer animation issues)
• Assemble raw and processed motion capture data for delivery to outsourcers
• (deliver//assign files to outsourcers, update all mocap status in shotgun, problem solve all outsourcer data issues)
• Assist in Motion Capture for in-game or Story sequences
• Participate in Animation reviews and kick-offs
• Validate assets work and function correctly in the game
• Communicate with Lead and Team Members

The Essentials
• 5+ years of professional experience
• Formal animation education such as BFA//BS from accredited art or design school or equivalent level of experience required
• Strong Maya or Motion Builder user
• Experienced at developing content for Game Engines
• Knowledge of camera work and editing techniques
• Ability to take direction well
• Strong interest in Video Games, storytelling, and Movies
• Strong technical problem-solving skills
• Ability to learn new tools quickly
• Ability to work well under pressure and deadlines
• Highly organized. Ability to manage multiple tasks at once
• Works well as a part of a team structure
• Detail Oriented
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Desired Skills and Pluses
• Familiar with Unreal Engine 4
• Experience with Cinematography
• Experience with Compositing software (After Effects, Nuke, etc.)
