Associate Technical Artist, FX (Temp)

The Netherrealm Tech Art Team is searching for an Associate Technical Artist, FX to assist with day-to-day tasks including FX work, Niagara simulation and tools development. This person will work closely with a senior member of the Tech Art Team and report to the Tech Art Lead. We are looking for an individual who is hungry to learn and is practiced at receiving and responding to feedback on their work – the ideal candidate will be able to carefully follow direction, while also being willing to take chances and push the envelope when the time is right. Tasks may differ from one day to the next but will typically focus on bringing motion and life to our environments. This will include a lot of Niagara work so experience in that area is a must!
Job Responsibilities:
• Using Niagara within Unreal Engine to create environment and character fx
• Working with other in-engine tools to create other types of dynamic elements for our environments
• Other type of miscellaneous art task including material creation or simple mesh building as needed
• Blueprint/logic work to drive fx or other dynamic elements
Work Experience
• Must possess good artistic skills and a working knowledge of 2D/3D art production.
Education, Professional Training, Technical Training or Certification
• At Least a 2-year 2D/3D art degree or equivalent. BFA is preferred.
Knowledge/Skills
• Strong proficiency in Unreal Engine
• Experience with UE Blueprints
• Proficiency with Niagara in Unreal Engine
• Proficiency with Unreal's Material Editor workflow
• Strong proficiency in Houdini (preferred) and/or Maya
• Strong organization and communication skills
Other Requirements
• Experience with Chaos in Unreal Engine
• Basic understanding of Embergen and typical fx flipbook workflows
• Experience with the Sequencer workflow within Unreal Engine
• Basic understanding of debugging performance in Unreal Engine
• Skilled animator with strong sense of timing and familiarity with keyframe workflows
• A practiced eye for basic art principles including color theory and composition

In compliance with local law, we are disclosing the compensation, or a range thereof, for roles in locations where legally required. Actual salaries will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to external market data, internal equity, location, skill set, experience, and/or performance. Base pay is just one component of Warner Bros. Discovery's total compensation package for employees. Pay Range: $43,680.00 - $81,120.00 salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. In addition, Warner Bros.
