About this Role

Netflix is seeking an individual to join its Southeast Asia (SEA) Public Policy team. This person will have responsibility for managing government relations and public policy strategies, programs, and initiatives relevant to the operation and growth of Netflix's business in SEA - with a focus on Thailand (TH), Indonesia (ID), and the Philippines (PH). This will include engaging and building relationships with government officials, industry partners, and civil society groups. The successful candidate will be charged with supporting the Director of Public Policy for SEA in developing and executing the Company's public policy strategy in SEA and contributing to the overall success of the company. One aspect of the role is being able to advise the company on political matters across the region and manage the relationships with key political figures able to influence the business environment in which the Company operates.

This role would be centered around the following key activities:
• Monitor regulatory and general policy developments in SEA and the other specified markets that may impact the Company's business.
• Identify, build relationships, regularly engage and coordinate with key government agencies and working-level officials relevant to the Company
• Develop and strengthen relationships with industry partners, civil society, and other organizations relevant to the public policy space
• Assist in interpreting laws and regulations to identify and assess the impact of such instruments on the Company's operating environment
• Liaise with industry and/or trade associations, including the Motion Pictures Association (MPAA), Asia Video Industry Association (AVIA), US-ASEAN Business Council, etc. and work with them to advocate the Company's position on public policy matters
• Support and work with other internal teams for any other necessary issues.

The ideal hire should have:
• At least 7 - 8 years of experience working in corporate/public affairs/events in Singapore and other SEA countries;
• An understanding of diplomatic and political dynamics between regional institutions (e.g. ASEAN), national government, civil society groups, and thought leaders across SEA; and
• Strong relationships with thought leaders and diverse groups and stakeholders in the policy community in SEA.
