Manager (Mandarin-Speaking), Business & Legal Affairs - Chinese Language Content

Netflix seeks a seasoned and intellectually-curious business and legal affairs executive to join our team based in Singapore. This role will handle business and legal affairs for our Chinese-language content initiative that licenses and commissions Chinese-language films and series for Netflix's global streaming service. The successful candidate will serve as a key collaborator to Netflix's Chinese-language content team, and will be responsible for providing clear, actionable, and strategic business and legal affairs advice to drive business objectives. Additionally, they will be responsible for structuring, negotiating, drafting, and closing content deals; providing production legal support for Chinese-language films and series; and building and managing internal and external relationships with key content and production partners.

This position will be based in Singapore with periodic international travel, including to Netflix's office in Taiwan.

REQUIREMENTS

The successful candidate must have fluency in English and Mandarin, with the ability to communicate confidently and effectively in both languages. Demonstrated business-level written proficiency in Chinese is required.

This person must have experience advising on business and legal issues in the entertainment, media, and/or intellectual property industries. Experience in the Chinese-language film or television industry (in licensing, production, financing, and/or distribution) is highly preferred.

The successful candidate will also possess the following:

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Serving as business partner and key collaborator to Chinese-language content executives.
• Providing clear, actionable, and strategic business and legal affairs advice.
• Deal structuring and contract drafting and negotiation in Chinese, with a focus on content licensing and acquisition and on original content development and production
• Conducting industry and territory-specific research
• Working cross-functionally to maintain alignment between departments
