Manager, Production Technology & Operations (LATAM)

With a focus on scalable workflows for vendor onboarding, delivery, technical workflow support, and quality control, as well as the adoption of creative technologies throughout the production lifecycle, you will be integral in empowering studio production partners, and key to building the teams and operations that will streamline the tools and methodology of how creative content is produced and delivered to our studio, driving both operational and creative excellence for our content.

The Role

The ideal candidate will lead teams to support the production and delivery of assets into Netflix's source acquisition, archive and QC platforms. You will partner with studio post production leaders to evaluate and adopt creative technologies, elevate the delivery proficiency of the studio, and also align with engineers and product managers to ensure optimal functionality of these cloud-hosted platforms, while innovating scalable solutions and workflows.

Your teams will provide technical expertise, advising Netflix Production Partners, and serving as the primary point of contact for vendors to elevate their creative and operational success by enabling innovative production practices that lead to timely and accurate delivery, time and time again. You'll be responsible for enhancing the ''Show Experience'' to create best practices, workflows and tools while driving new industry standards and staying up-to-date with the developments on production-side infrastructure and technology. You will lead teams that focus on production-facing workflows while helping to educate partners on emerging Netflix applications. Through effective management and coaching you will empower your team to capably act independently on title-specific needs and industry-level challenges, and engage them in the continual self-improvement of the team holistically.

A successful candidate will be an experienced operational leader with a comprehensive understanding of multiple post production disciplines and workflows. They will have a strong grasp of creative technologies, post production workflows, quality management, and a keen interest and knowledge of software and tool development, as well as an analytical mindset and comfortable with making data-driven decisions. You must be proactive, thorough and able to act on multiple and diverse responsibilities. The candidate must embody Netflix culture, be able to foster organizational health, and place a strong emphasis on process improvement, change management and workflow optimization. This is a demanding and fast moving position that calls for a quick thinker, an effective communicator, and an individual able to exercise good judgement and initiative when the heat is on. A strong candidate will hold a bold vision for the future and a desire to revolutionize tooling and workflows as we chart a new course for the industry. Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Lead the Production Technology & Operations team as they collaborate with Netflix Title Management teams, production partners and vendors to create and deliver assets to the studio and validate a growing archive.
• Partner with Post Leaders to identify challenges and drive regional strategy related to the best workflow, technologies and nuances as needed for each market (i.e. picture and sound production and finishing, ingest, QC, vendor, language specific solutions, staffing, etc.) This includes partnering on a wider global approach/initiative when necessary
• Define the strategy for Netflix engagement with regional post facilities and QC vendors focusing on setting them up for success when delivering to and supporting Netflix.
• Champion and drive a culture and practice of transparency and continuous process improvement with an emphasis on workflow innovation, automation and refinement.
• Cultivate a data-informed approach to risk tolerance, enabling the team to apply the correct level of touch for each title.
• Collaborate on ways to remove friction from the post production asset lifecycle by seeking ways to automate, streamline and simplify the onboarding, delivery and QC processes, arriving to root-cause solutions and generating efficiencies
• Analyze and contextualize partner delivery data, with a focus on root-cause analysis, to drive an issue prevention strategy that minimizes support requests relating to the internal delivery ecosystem and specifications.
• Partner with Studio Training and Studio Product teams to ensure tools are optimized, to minimize friction when delivering to Netflix.
• Manage, analyze, and optimize financial spend related to creative technologies, archive and QC.

Qualifications
• 10+ years of experience in post production operations at a studio or network.
• Experience managing diverse teams with multiple functions and skills, across many locations
• Demonstrated ability to create initiatives that drive engagement and results
• Strong organizational skills with proactive mentalityExperience with leveraging data and instituting quality management frameworks and process improvement systems
• Experience working with and collaborating with product and engineering teams to identify problem spaces and solutions
• Familiarity with content creation and post production workflows Knowledge of video, audio and metadata file formats
• Working knowledge of outside vendors, including QC, mix stages and finishing facilities
