Responsibilities
NBCU Skycastle is seeking a Marketing Specialist, Sports to handle a wide range of duties in support of the NBCUniversal Local Sales Group. This professional can either be based in New York City or LA and will report to the Director, Sports and Entertainment Marketing. The ideal candidate will demonstrate competence in sports marketing and a variety of skills as outlined below:
• Working from client RFPs, brand briefs and brainstorming with Sales and Marketing teams, create custom, cross-platform marketing solutions for advertisers across NBC Owned Television Stations, NBC Sports Regional Networks, and Telemundo Station Group
• Develop and maintain customized sports marketing collateral for NBCU Local Sports properties, Sports Partnerships and Development Sales (SPD) initiatives, and new sales opportunities
• Support Sports Partnerships and Development Sales in marketing ideation, client proposals, campaign recaps, and deal renewals
• Collaborate with NBCU Local Branded Content team to productize content opportunities for Sports Partnerships and Development Sales and disseminate across the broader sales group
• Assist the Director of Sports & Entertainment Marketing on major sports tent-poles, including Olympics, NFL and World Cup, by tracking sold sponsorships, uncovering new offerings and fulfilling sales enhancements
• Help update and maintain internal SharePoint sites and presentation archives for NBCU Local Sports Sales Marketing Materials (properties, tent-poles, SPD initiatives)
• Assist the Skycastle Marketing team with the creation of capabilities presentations, case study/recap decks, and sales materials for all content verticals and distribution platforms
• Serve as main point of contact for Skycastle campaign-related issues, introducing phases of project execution, next steps and timelines
• Work in conjunction with Production and Editorial teams on creation of client content
• Proactively identify and minimize potential problems throughout campaign and provide solutions
• Partner with cross-functional teams on concept development and campaign execution

Qualifications/Requirements
• A bachelor's degree is required, preferably in sports management, business, advertising, marketing or related field
• 1-3 years of sales marketing, sports marketing and/or project management experience
• Superior writing and oral communication skills and a sound understanding of television and digital advertising/marketing
• Think creatively, communicate ideas effectively in writing and create PPT presentations which display those ideas with relevant imagery and an eye for design/layout
• Work collaboratively, manage competing deadlines, and take stress, the expectation of fast project turnarounds and constructive criticism in stride
• Manage and prioritize multiple projects across multiple points of contact with strong organizational skills, time management, and attention to detail
• Possess fluency in the role of multi-platform applications (digital, mobile, OTT/CTV, social media) in marketing campaigns, with a passion for professional engagement with these platforms
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PPT)
• Must submit an attestation disclosing your COVID-19 vaccination status and, if partially or fully vaccinated, submitting your vaccination record no later than 7 days following commencement of employment.
• Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 at the commencement of employment or must undergo regular COVID-19 testing if Company determines your job position requires accessing an NBCUniversal worksite.
• Must be willing to adhere to all Company COVID-19 workplace safety policies and protocols.

Desired Characteristics
• Previous professional experience in sports marketing
• Strong writing and presentation creation skills - ability to create engaging, visually, and thoughtfully designed materials, plans, and decks
• Proficiency with graphics program such as Adobe Photoshop helpful but not required
• Experience in analyzing research and data from sources like Scarborough and Simmons and synthesizing into an impactful presentation
• Fluent in speaking and writing Spanish is a plus
• Passion and knowledge of sports in general
