Job Description
The NBCUniversal Global Advertising and Partnerships Communications team is looking for a proactive self-starter who is passionate about communications and is eager to roll up their sleeves and dive into all things media relations, executive communications, tracking, writing, pitching, and more.
As a Communications Associate, you will serve as a key member of the team, contributing to the department's external communication initiatives that support the company's business goals.
You will specifically work on the External Communications vertical and will support communications priorities, managing across key areas including thought leadership initiatives spanning events, speaking engagements, awards, research and trend reports, social media; media relations execution for B2B partnerships, entertainment and sports sponsorships product & technology communications and more.
Responsibilities:
• Serve as a key member of the Communications team, helping execute external initiatives including implementing communication plans for events (virtual and in-person), ideating and executing pitches, story placement, managing speaking opportunities, and crafting social copy to amplify announcements and initiatives.
• Collaborate with various key departments in the advertising & partnerships division and the company to coordinate information, communication strategies, and approvals for corporate communications needs.
• Project manage with external groups such as news outlets/journalists, partners, and clients, as well as key internal communications, sales, marketing, talent, legal, and creative colleagues.
• Execute and support publicity and media relations projects that support the Advertising and Partnerships division's business objectives.
• Work closely with our award-winning show and network communications teams to identify and pitch press coverage for innovative, groundbreaking, industry-first partnerships across marketing, technology, data, and more.
• Work closely across our executive communications function, managing events, speaking engagements & awards deadlines, researching industry opportunities, drafting submissions, pitching speaking opportunities, liaising with key external contacts and organizers.
• Write and copyedit press materials including press releases, media pitches, op eds, industry trend reports, comprehensive overage recaps, blog posts, key fact sheets, competitor summaries and more.
• Develop briefing materials, prep documents, and assist in preparing key executives and talent on the logistics of events/interviews, run of show, participants, background information, and talking points.
• Aid in maintaining key press and partner communication contact lists.
• Manage and craft earned social strategy and social copy for NBCUniversal Advertising and Partnerships division working closely with trade marketing and other relevant internal teams.
Qualifications
• 3+ years' experience in communications, media and/or advertising background preferred
• Strong writing skills for communications assets including executive briefs, pitches, press releases, award submissions, op eds, industry trend reports
• Ability to quickly read and synthesize information, and distill complex topics into simple, effective messaging
• Extremely detail oriented, with the ability to see how details create a larger picture
• Experience working events, using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint) preferred
• Willingness to travel and work overtime, and on weekends with short notice
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

• A passion for communications, social media, events, as well as the advertising, entertainment and tech industry with an interest in pursuing a career in the field
• A creative perspective, being comfortable sharing new ideas and having a sense of design and aesthetics.
Eligibility Requirements:
• Must be willing to submit to a background investigation.
• Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States.
• Must be 18 years or older.
Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.
Salary range: $65,000 - $80,000
