Responsibilities

The NBC Sports Strategic Insights team works across content research and consumer insights to tell the story of the ''why'' and the ''what'' behind sports media consumption. The Research Manager is a key member of the team, creating actionable performance analysis to support a diverse set of client groups, including Consumer Marketing, Programming/Scheduling, Finance and Sales Planning. The role consists of developing insights across the NBC Sports portfolio, including the Olympics, the NFL & Sunday Night Football, PGA TOUR, BIG 10, Notre Dame, NASCAR, IndyCar, FIFA World Cup, and Premier League.

Responsibilities:
• Responsibility over recurring and ad hoc analyses requiring deeper dives into data sets to highlight the performance of NBC Sports and competitive sports programming, and field inquiries from leadership and key stakeholders.
• Triangulate multiple data points (e.g. National and Local Nielsen metrics, streaming data, qualitative insights) to help craft an impactful narrative around cross-platform sports property consumption, including regular program tracking reports and support for weekend event coverage.
• Manage and assist in NBC Sports Group's program schedule operations in the Nielsen NCL tool, ensuring all sports programming is appropriately managed and rated.
• Support analysis of multi-platform sports event performance and landscape trends
• Bring a fresh perspective to departmental daily/weekly/monthly/quarterly reporting, helping to position analysis in a creative and concise manner, advance measurement data solutions
• Partner and collaborate with cross-functional teams and insights peers across NBCUniversal to provide holistic insights around content consumption to guide long term strategy, and ensure uniformity of reporting standards.
• Contribute to a diverse, equitable, and inclusive work culture at NBC Sports
• Additional duties as assigned

Desired Qualifications:
• Intellectual curiosity, analytical abilities and a passion for Sports TV
• Up to date on media landscape and television viewership trends
• Team first mentality, but also capable of performing independently
• Comfortable communicating both verbally and in writing to all levels within the organization

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree in Media, Communications, Statistics or related field
• Minimum of 4 years' experience in sports or media/entertainment industry
• Excellent communication, presentation, and storytelling skills, helping stakeholders understand the NBC Sports audience and their consumption patterns.
• Well versed in Nielsen measurement systems (NPower, NNTV); experience with ComScore TV Essentials and additional media measurement tools
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, including Excel and PowerPoint. Experience with data visualization tools (Tableau, PowerBI) a strong plus

• Must be willing to work in Stamford, CT
