Job Description

Responsibilities
As a Senior Broadcast Producer, you will work directly with the executive producer, anchor, and staff to generate and oversee the production of hard news and feature segments for NBC Nightly News.

Essential Responsibilities:
• Oversee and manage production teams including producers, associate producers, correspondents from story inception through air
• Organize and oversee brainstorming sessions, including evaluating pitches and generating story ideas
• Strong, demonstrated experience managing a control room during a live production during breaking news
• Serve as fill-in Executive Producer, as needed
• Coordinate ongoing news coverage for broadcast and organize futures process for Nightly
• Serve as leader and mentor in the Nightly newsroom
• Supervise direct reports

Qualifications/Requirements
Basic Qualifications:
• Must have at least 7 years of editorial experience working in production at the network or cable news level
• Must have at least 3 years of experience managing a newsroom
• Bachelor's degree preferred
• Must have strong journalistic writing skills, research skills, editorial judgment and control room management experience
• Demonstrated strong knowledge and interest in news and current events

Additional Job Requirements:
• Must be willing and able to work flexible hours, under tight deadline pressure, including breaking news
• Must be willing to work in NYC in the office
• Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States
