Responsibilities
NBC News Digital is looking for an experienced Production Manager to join the Digital Video Operations team. The ideal candidate is an extraordinary communicator, planner and project executor with a wealth of digital video production experience. This role will collaborate across Pre-Production, Production, Post-Production and Editorial to track projects through their lifecycles from conception to archive. Acting as a liaison between operations logistics and creative editorial to facilitate the production of a variety of digital assets. They will serve as the administrative backbone of production units managing logistics, documentation, production schedules, deliverables, budgets, and transparent communication with stakeholders.

Job Duties:
• Oversee production planning, content lifecycle as well as team and host schedules
• Plan, organize and communicate production timelines to align with designated deadlines and work with producers to meet them
• Coordinate resources, equipment and elements to support an efficient production pipeline
• Partner with Post Production Manager, to ensure editors are assigned appropriately to ST projects
• Track and manage project deliverables, requests and scheduling through all phases to meet deadlines
• Manages onboarding and training process for new team members
• Manages Host assignments and shoot schedule for daily show shoots and additional interviews/shoots, including host coverage as needed in coordination with other parts of NBC News
• Anticipate, react to, and resolve operational issues with urgency
• Troubleshoot potential pitfalls in the planning, production and/or post-production process
• Establish and maintain relationships with internal partners in support of their production efforts
• Oversee cue sheets as well as rights and clearances process for proper submission, accuracy and organization
• Ensure that archiving of projects occurs in accordance with our SOPs
• Build project budgets for potential series, shows, and specials
• Vet story budgets with producers and track overall budget
• Help procure and archive documentation (certificate of insurance, releases, licenses, etc.)
• Be on set and/or in field, if needed
• Ensure locations within 30 Rock are available for shoots when required
• Be the point of contact for shoots and work with the Digital Video Production team to help coordinate

Qualifications/Requirements
• 5 or more years of experience in Production Management, Post-Production, Digital Media and/or a related field
• Experience as a Production Manager in daily, live and/or quick turnaround news
• Experience coordinating teams across verticals with planning-related duties in the digital space
• Proven interpersonal, organizational, written and oral communications skills
• Ability to manage multiple, competing workstreams and priorities simultaneously
• Field production experience
• Meticulous attention to detail with ability to be a proactive problem solver
• Professional judgment and discretion for handling confidential information
• Ability to work well both independently and collaboratively as part of team
• Must be willing to work in New York (this role would operate remotely until further notice)
• Must be willing and able to work flexible hours, under tight deadlines, including breaking news
• Must be able to work additional hours beyond scheduled shift with little or no notice if needed

Desired Characteristics
• Knowledge of Adobe Suite, Final Cut, Avid Media Composer and transcoding variety of codecs
• Experience with production clearances, licensing and archive
• Social media, OTT, and/or data-savvy, with a passion for hybrid production environments
• Hands-on experience with Sony, Canon and other cameras and DSLRs
• Exposure to documentary field production or stories a plus
• Knowledge of project management software like Smartsheet a plus
• Production industry contacts a plus
