Responsibilities
Key Duties:
• Serve as point person for the House of Representatives for all NBC News platforms
• Work closely with Capitol Hill correspondents and reporters on news-of-day and enterprise reporting
• Stay on top of and communicate key items related to the House floor schedule, committee hearings and more, anticipating the interests and needs of all platforms
• Communicate key information in clear, concise and accurate editorial notes to be used across all platforms (including by anchors and correspondents on air)
• Maintain sources within House leadership, committee offices and other relevant members with an eye on breaking news and original reporting
• Pitch stories in a timely manner to all platforms, carefully considering each of their interests and needs
• Maintain a social media presence to monitor lawmaker and competitive accounts while promoting NBC News' own Capitol Hill content

Qualifications/Requirements
Requirements:
• Bachelor's Degree
• 4+ years experience in news, broadcast background preferred but not required
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Keen understanding of and interest in political and source reporting, both broadcast and written
• Ability to work calmly and collaboratively, especially in breaking news situations
• Ability to work well within a team
• Ability to work weekends and travel as needed
• Ability to shoot and edit preferred
