Responsibilities
The NBC News, TODAY PR Coordinator will support the TODAY Communications Department with administrative and operational responsibilities. This position will report to the SVP, Communications.
Responsibilities:
• Assist TODAY team with pitching print and digital press for talent, broadcast segments, TODAY.com content, TODAY All Day, and TODAY podcasts.
• Manage press requests for TODAY talent and executives and maintain internal roundups of events and press
• Compile weekly program listings for all four hours of TODAY
• Compile daily clips roundups for high-level executives and talent
• Support/attend events with talent and travel to off-site locations with production
• Assist department on research projects, transcribing interviews and other assigned projects
• Assist with media announcements and major events, including breaking news coverage and NBC News Special Reports
• Manage press lists, coverage documents, team calendar, meeting schedules, and updating and maintaining bios and headshots
• Assist in the creation of show press materials, programming releases and planning of special events
• Perform administrative tasks including managing incoming communications, organizational tasks and other team-related tasks.
• This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of 3 days per week.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree, preferably in Communications/Public Relations/Journalism
• 1+ year(s) of experience preferably in media, entertainment, or publicity
• 1+ year(s) experience with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Campaign Monitor, Word, & PowerPoint
• Ability to juggle a heavy workflow and meet numerous deadlines and shifting priorities
• Individual must exhibit strong interpersonal skills and ability to work both independently and with a team
• Strong written and verbal communications skills
• Excellent understanding of social media
• Superior organization skills and high attention to detail
• Highly resourceful and problem solver
• Ability to exercise a high level of discretion in handling confidential and sensitive information
• Demonstrate a high level of professionalism and composure when working with talent, producers, personal talent representatives, in addition to internal leadership and colleagues.
• Available for minimal travel, evening and weekend work
