Responsibilities

We are expanding and growing NBC News Now big time and fast. Come join us for the launch of NBC News Daily- which will air across streaming platforms and NBC affiliates live in the afternoon.

We're looking for someone with a passion for news and who can work with our producers and reporters to transform their ideas into visual reality.

This position is represented by the NewsGuild-CWA.

Responsibilities Include:
• Editing video. Lots of it. Some simple edits, some craft edits, lots of quick turn-around edits and complex doc-style packages too
• Collaborating with and supporting a team of producer / editors and reporters
• Helping to elevate the quality of graphics in video pieces
• Juggling multiple edits for regular and breaking-news programming
• Quality checking all video content
• Keeping senior producers and the EP up to date with assignment progress

Qualifications

Qualifications/Requirements:
• Fluent in Premiere and Avid. Comfortable in After Effects.
• Comfortable working across broadcast and digital systems, and fluent in proper media management for potential remote editing
• Excellent editorial judgment
• You've been working in broadcast, digital or cable for 5+ years
• You've edited non-fiction content in the past, preferably news.
• You've got a strong knowledge of current events and passion for journalism
• You have a demonstrated ability work tight deadlines and remain calm under pressure
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with others
• Ability to adhere to NBC News Standards and Practices
• You are willing to work in New York, New York

• You love working with a team to collaborate.
• You're a visual artist and video is your medium.
