Job Description

Responsibilities
Key Duties:
• Support Capitol Hill correspondents, reporters and producers with all coverage needs, across all NBC News platforms
• Support NBC News' coverage with clear and concise planning and editorial notes
• Contribute off-air reporting while developing sources and written reporting skills
• Pitch original content to all NBC News platforms
• Produce correspondent live shots for all necessary platforms
• Back-up Capitol Hill-based producers as needed
• Back-up DC Bureau with non-Capitol Hill coverage as needed

Qualifications/Requirements
• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience.
• 2+ years experience in news
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Keen understanding of and interest in political and source reporting, both broadcast and written with a desire to learn more
• Ability to work calmly and collaboratively, especially in breaking news situations
• Ability to work well within a team
• Ability to work weekends and travel as needed

• Broadcast background preferred
