Coordinator, Awards (National Geographic)
This position will support the daily awards and administrative operations for the National Geographic awards team, collaborating with the director of awards in coordinating award entries and campaign-related tasks for awards campaigns. The ideal candidate is someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, who is collaborative and who has a desire to learn the ins and outs of awards campaigning within the entertainment industry.
Responsibilities:
• Work closely with the Director of Awards on annual awards strategy and submissions inclusive of managing execution across all appropriate awards opportunities; liaise with creative marketing team on FYC assets including FYC ads, member blasts, and screening code access for voters; managing content and assets for entry - tracking, reviewing, routing and submitting all clips necessary for both awards submissions and award show needs.
• Coordinating logistics for FYC and awards ceremonies; collaborating closely with events team and publicists on FYC events; working with network operations team in gathering assets in the correct delivery specs; covering in person events.
• Maintaining awards database and all recordkeeping, keeping information up to date.
Basic Qualifications:
• Minimum of 1 year of public relations/media experience or similar.
• Exceptional attention to detail; capacity to work with minimal daily supervision and the ability to exercise strong independent judgment.
• Must be proactive, reliable and resourceful
• Ability to juggle multiple tasks, change priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Excellent verbal, writing and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Prior experience working with awards submissions and administrative operations within awards
• 2 or more years of experience in PR and/or awards
Required Education:
• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism or related field.
The hiring range for this position in Los Angeles, CA is $51,200 to $70,200 per year and in New York, NY is $53,600 to $73,700 per year based on a 40 hour work week. The amount of hours scheduled per week may vary based on business needs. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
