Are you passionate about all things music, movies, TV, social media, and pop culture, with an intimate understanding of internet culture?

The MTV Entertainment Group is seeking a Manager to join the award-winning team responsible for social media marketing and digital content around their biggest events, including the MTV Video Music Awards, CMT Music Awards, and MTV Movie & TV Awards.

Working under the mentorship of Directors on this digital team, this role leads content strategy and production for a wide range of tentpole events and specials. Roles and responsibilities will include ideation and creation of marketing assets, social account planning and management, content distribution and producing branded content campaigns.

A Manager may have a hand in creative ideation, content conception, development, production and distribution, working internally across Marketing, Project Management, Design, Integrated Marketing (Branded Content), Press/Communications, Video Production and Research teams, as well as with a variety of external Third-Party Vendors.

The ideal candidate for this role is not only creative, but also very meticulous; someone who thrives when balancing multiple priorities in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment.

Responsibilities Include:
• Building social/digital plans that balance marketing priorities, original content, and sponsor content while working interdepartmentally to complete these plans
• Producing timely and forward-thinking social media content including social videos, memes, gifs, etc.
• Generating sponsor and branded content opportunities; working with Integrated Marketing team to develop and implement campaigns that balance MTV brand standard methodologies with sponsor goals
• Handling day-to-day content sourcing, copywriting, scheduling and fan engagement across social media accounts
• Maintaining quality content and presentation on web sites relevant to their projects
• Crafting and overseeing comprehensive schedules and timelines (production schedules, social media publishing calendars, research trackers, etc.)
• Tracking metrics and usage patterns on all platforms to improve and enhance streams/views and engagement

Basic Qualifications:
• At least 4 years experience in a digital content, marketing or social media-based role
• Bachelor's degree preferred
• Experience producing and crafting original content for various platforms
• Background in copywriting with a clear understanding of brand tone of voice
• Experience with Adobe Photoshop, Microsoft Office, Keynote/Powerpoint, video editing, and content management systems
• Knowledge of SEO standard methodologies, Adobe Suite and other common web-publishing technologies a plus

Additional Qualifications:
• Highly organized, detailed and a creative problem solver
• Deep knowledge of pop culture, music, movies, celebrities and fashion.
• Savvy digital trend-spotter
• Strong grasp of social platform mechanics, staying on top of latest/upcoming platform features and how we can be the first/best to apply them
• Comfortable working across complex organizational structures, and leading up and down when appropriate
