Job Description

MediaLink is seeking an Executive Search Director to join the Global Executive Search & Talent Advisory team in the New York office. This role would report into and work in partnership with EVP & MD EMEA and will oversee and drive our headhunting searches from conception to completion and representing our candidates and clients.

A combination of your passion and enthusiasm for our industry, a consultative and progressive outlook and the strength and quality of your connections, will make you the perfect fit for this role. You do not need previous experience as Headhunter to be considered for this role, however a world class ability to advise, guide and authentically partner with our C-suite clients is critical to the success of this role. Gravitas and proven wisdom are essential.

What You Will Do
• To lead, drive, grow and own significant C-Suite relationships with our current and prospective clients
• To bring significant operating experience from your previous career within the wider industry to help clients problem solve both with organizational design, talent advisory and ultimately executive search.
• Willingness to both construct and offer intellectual and experienced opinion on both the clients strategy and ultimate decisions as a running mate and partner.
• Project manage and execute end to end search assignments including clarifying and defining a strategy in a high pace situation, yet with a caring approach.
• Working with clients on problems, challenges and opportunities that might be encountered in their organizations and advising our clients on the way forward.
• Encouraging clients to explore and bold transformational decisions in their workplace and/or personal lives.
• Help grow the talent advisory and Headhunting service across Medialink without losing focus on existing searches.
• Proactively build and sustain a meaningful network of C-suite level candidates.
• Relish in the opportunity to comfortably hold your personal accountability in this role and have a natural duty of care within yourself to always take responsibility.

What You Will Need
• Experience with c-suite level/executive management relationships and well connected across the sectors we represent.
• Ability to demonstrate a strong existing network in the media lan scape (demonstrating the calibre and gravitas required).
• Proactive and driven.
• Ability to problem solve whilst remaining commercially astute.
• Empathize deeply with both corporate and personal clients and understand the highs and lows faced by those in senior roles.
• Consultative and empathetic approach.
• Lateral thinking to see past the purely obvious, while ensuring every recommendation is fruitful for our clients.
• Maintaining an industry presence and confident/natural at bus ness networking and relationship building (both in person and virtually)
• Detail orientated and understand personal individual nuances and small details that can make all the difference to a candidate/clients decision.
• A natural curiosity to understand the psychology of both each search and each individual involved.
• Ability to coach and develop your team.
